In a diner that Metromix calls "comfy with lots of artistic touches," Chef David Choi serves up his signature blend of Korean-vegan fusion. Starting from the philosophy of food’s power to heal, the chef scours local farmers markets to cobble together his Zagat-rated vegan dishes. The menu ranges from the Maha Pyogo’s mushroom melange of shitake, oyster, and button varieties draped over rice and yellow curry, to the Dr. K’s Cure All Noodle Soup--a spicy broth flush with seaweed, tofu, and a choice of wheat or rice noodles. Adding a dulcet coda to the savory entrees, the cafe presses fresh, house-made juices full of sweet potato, kiwi, and cucumber, cooks up sweet red bean cakes, and freezes vegan ice cream.
