Francesca's family of restaurants taps into the flavorful cuisine of Northern Italian regions such as Tuscany, Umbria, and Rome, for a gastronomic style that has garnered plentiful press features from outlets such as ABC7's 190 North and the Chicago Food Blog. At Francesca's on Chestnut—the culinary collective's 20th Chicago-area location—chef Armando Suarez draws up a menu teeming with traditional pizzas, pastas, and grilled entrees, alongside Italian and Californian wines. Located inside the Seneca Hotel, the 150-seat eatery aims to evoke an intimate trattoria ambiance with an antique Brunswick bar and photos of rural Italy. A private dining room hosts up to 40 patrons, who can huddle around a roaring fireplace to warm up or roast chestnuts until they hatch.
