As the owners tell it, Cha Cha's was opened "in direct response to the 'mega spas' and assembly-line salons of the last several years," and they’ve designed it to be "a throwback to the old barbershops and salons." Specifically, they want to capture the high level of customer service that defined shops of previous generations. Personal attention, carefully crafted styles, and hot-lather shaves are de rigueur. There’s also a nostalgic feel to the shop's quirky décor: they have a cigarette machine that dispenses candy and on the walls are Old Hollywood glamor shots, taken so long ago the Hollywood sign had only lowercase letters. The hairstyles themselves don’t have to be old-fashioned, though: the salon portfolio is lined with pictures of pink hair, half-shaved heads, and trendily executed tamer do's.
