Heart-pumping music drives workouts at NBgroupx, and owner Khristina Wrase—armed with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science—calls upon dance-based Zumba moves and a trio of Les Mills workouts to whip clients into shape. The 55-minute BodyFlow class begins with soothing tai chi moves before a series of Pilates and yoga stretches limbers up limbs, concluding with 10 minutes of relaxation and meditation. BodyPump engages muscles head-to-toe with free-weight strength-training moves, and BodyCombat mimics karate, boxing, and tae kwon do. The choreography and music of all three classes change every three months to keep muscles from pulling themselves out of boredom. Staffers also motivate movers and shakers through boot camps and Latin-inspired Zumba dance, which, unlike swallowing a space heater, both torch calories and tones physiques.
