Guests of 230 Fifth not only rub elbows with the elite inside a penthouse lounge, they also rub eyeballs with some of the city’s tallest buildings on a heated rooftop garden. Inside the lounge, plush furniture upholstered in purples and reds virtually hug guests who sip specialty cocktails—including the Lychee Cosmo, mixed with Stoli Blueberry and Lychee Puree. Chef John Benedetti creates 20 different small dishes for guests to sample and share during drink-em-ups that include bites of vegetarian rice cakes, fried calamari, and “larger” portions of poached sea bass in a coconut broth. Outside, plush greenery springs from a rooftop garden that provides stunning views of the Empire State building and the giant apes that climb it. Umbrellas shade guests on hot, sunny days and heat lamps warm cold shoulders during cooler months so guests can enjoy one of New York’s largest outdoor rooftop garden’s year round.
