A bright purple and lime green façade makes Boca Chica hard to miss, as does the scents of savory pan-Latin cuisine that have been wafting out of this laid-back eatery since 1989. Inside, patrons take a seat at cheerful yellow tables while executive chef Shash Blount whips up pinionitos, plantain rounds stuffed with spicy meat, and Cuban sandwiches with roasted pork. A large selection of grilled items gives the menu a barbecued feel, such as Dominican-spiced chicken wings and pork chops blanketed in a creamy caper-mustard sauce.
