Everyman Espresso

Village Voice’s choice for “Best Espresso Bar 2012,” Everyman Espresso opened a SoHo location in July 2012 to complement its popular Greenwich Village spot. Living up to its name, Everyman Espresso says on its website that “the goal is to have a few options as far as types of coffees rather than get all hung up on fancy brew methods.” If you visit either location, you might see owner Sam Penix, a National Barista Championship finalist who’s well-known for the pro-coffee tattoos on his fingers. In addition to making espresso with a Strada, the shop serves Counter Culture roasts, made through AeroPress or Chemex methods. And for those who are on the run, Everyman Espresso offers to-go cups.
