Jack’s Stir Brew

In owner Jack Mazzola’s mind, there’s no question as to why Jack’s Stir Brew has been successful, earning the city’s “Best Cup of Coffee” designation from New York magazine. It’s all due to the patented stir-brew process, an invention of his that reduces the coffee’s bitterness and acidity. That technique brings out the best flavors in the shop’s organic, Fair Trade coffee, which mostly uses beans from the Dominican Republican and a roaster in Vermont. In addition to its trademark cup of joe, Jack’s whips up a range of specialty coffees, including the Happy Jack, a honey cinnamon latte. Jack’s Stir Brew has locations in the West Village, the Financial District, and in Amagansett on Long Island. Inside Jack’s West Village spot, you’ll find framed pictures of some of the shop’s most-loyal customers and friends, as well as t-shirts, mugs, and coffee beans for sale.
