At CrossFit Hardcore Central, it’s pretty routine to see athletes lifting weights overhead one minute and then doing dips on gymnastics bars the next. But “routine” is a four-letter word at this gym, considering that the Workouts of the Day (WODs) change every day to keep muscles and their owners guessing. Based on CrossFit’s principle of varied, functional fitness, exercises never repeat workouts. Sessions may include weightlifting, running, rowing, gymnastics, plyometrics, and body-weight movements such as pushups, chin-ups, and squats.
