Vintner's Cellar of Oregon
It's not unusual to stumble upon a winery in Oregon—the state, after all, is prized for its production of pinot noir. But what is unusual is having a hand in the wine-making process. That's where Vintner's Cellar comes in. On the surface, it's a cozy wine bar filled with hanging lights, stone accents, and a curved counter from which the knowledgeable staff pours more than 40 varietals of wine. But mention an interest in the process and a whole new world opens up—one where you select the grapes and then return to add the sugars, yeast, and oak. Following a fermenting period, the wine is bottled, sealed, and corked to your specifications. You can even create custom labels to add a personal touch that's neater and less time consuming than squeezing each grape by hand. Vintner's Cellar welcomes this experimentation all year long, in addition to holding regular wine tastings and special events with live music.
