Great Pacific Adventures casts customers out to sea aboard vessels in search of orca whales and other striking seafaring mammals. Expectant whale seekers and disoriented pirates hop aboard the King Salmon, a 45-foot ocean cruiser equipped with indoor and outdoor seating and stocked to sate sightseers with coffee and tea service. All outings are manned by Transport Canada–certified marine biologists and naturalists, who regale sightseers with insights and details about the local marine environment. The King Salmon departs throughout the day from the Inner Harbour of downtown Victoria and sails through waters that are home to three pods of orca whales, as well as frequent swimming grounds for grey whales, humpback whales, dolphins, and porpoise. All of Great Pacific Adventures' boats are also equipped with hydrophones, allowing sightseers to overhear whales voicing their candid thoughts on politics and blowhole-enhancement surgery. In addition to mammoth marine mammals, guests can expect to see fish, bald eagles, and other birds along the way.
