For those struggling to get fit, Guy Urioste "has been there, done that." Before he whipped himself into shape, the former Air Force airman tipped the scales at 300 pounds. Today, Guy and his wife Diana—both certified personal trainers—lead boot camps at Alton Baker Park and Skinner Butte Park that feature a range of pulse-quickening workouts. The sessions vary from hiking trips to the "300" challenge, during which participants perform 300 reps of multiple exercises before reciting the first 300 lines of The Iliad. Fitness tests, measurements, and nutritional consultations help patrons to track their progress as they shape up.
