August Photo Contest Winner

This month’s photo contest winner had the right idea: using Groupon to plan a mini-vacation to a new city. We’re not saying Kim won because this new city happened to be our hometown of Chicago, but we’re also not saying this didn’t help her cause!

Here’s one of the on-the-go photos of Kim and John from Chicago Film Tours:

Writes Kim:

Thanks to Groupon, my husband and I were able to take a trip to Chicago… Here’s a shot of us about to redeem our Chicago Film Tours Groupon on August 26th. Thank you Groupon!!!! You are the best!!!! XOXOXOXO

For winning this month’s contest, we’re sending Kim $100 Groupon Bucks to spend on more of the best things in her city or exploring somewhere new.

Has Groupon helped make your life less boring lately? Make sure to capture your story in a photo – with your voucher or mobile app pictured – and send it to us at pictures@groupon.com. Each month we pick one winner, but we post all of our favorites to flickr.com/groupon, so don’t forget to check those out too.

Some honorable mentions include this little man and his bounty of organic produce, a fun group outing at The Cookie Mill and this Presidential redemption shot.

Until next month,

Groupon

Are you sure that pic is accurate? or maybe the description is incorrect?? There is just no way that that picture was taken in March in Chicago. Chicago may not be my home town but I do know enough to know that March in Chicago is a LOT colder than this shows!! LOL…… congrats Kim!!

Thanks KATZ! You are right, the description is incorrect in more ways than one…..The picture was actually taken on AUGUST 26th and the weather was beautiful! Also, that guy in the picture is not my husband WALTER, it’s John from Chicago Film Tours! But regardless, Walter and I had the BEST VACATION ever in CHICAGO thanks to GROUPON!!!!! WOO-HOO!!

    Katz,

Thanks for the heads up! March vs. August is like Greenland vs. Iceland in this fair city.

Wow… Taken in August but not posted until mid September on Flickr. “Generic” picture… That could be almost any city… Specially those trees… And yes, it’s such a “funny,” “crazy” pic… I’m sure it was a hard task for Groupon to choose the winner after looking at the rest of the competition… (lame job, Groupon… You could do better when choosing a winner…). In any case, congrats, Kim.

    Grouponfan,

Thanks for your feedback. We collect the photos in August and then announce the winners in September, but we’ll try to get the winners up closer to the beginning of the month next time.

Sorry to disappoint any Groupon Fans but I am the ultimate Groupon “Groupie” I sent in 8 pictures (all with a Groupon in hand) for my airfare, hotel, three tours and a few restaurants… They choose one pictures to use. My entire trip was created by checking the Groupons for Chicago!!! It was amazing!!! Don’t take that away from me by calling it lame! Thanks again Groupon!!!! You know how much I appreciate all of you!!! XOXOXO CHICAGO I love you…. ;)
