In a continued effort to educate others about Groupon’s culture, our Editorial Department brings you another “Behind the Deals” post.
Some jobs require a very specific wardrobe—for example, fireman, clown, or basketballer. Groupon employees, however, perform such a wide variety of tasks that no one outfit is suitable. Although literally written in stone, the rules aren’t exactly written in stone, as is evident in these excerpts from Groupon’s 1400-page employee handbook, laying out the official Groupon dress code:
_”If the shoe fits—wear it! Groupon employees should wear shoes at all times. If no well-fitting shoes can be found, an alternative foot covering is recommended, such as wrapping your feet in newspapers or garbage bags.”_
“Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. Fortunately, every Groupon employee already has the perfect job—Groupon employee! Your current wardrobe should largely suffice, with the encouraged addition of a Groupon-branded one-piece Unisuit.”
_”Every day is casual Friday—every Friday that is! On these laid-back “prekends,” employees are ordered to don Hawaiian shirts, graphic tees, and modest swimwear to reinforce an atmosphere of mandatory relaxation.”_
Try applying these tips to your own business wardrobe to inject a dash of successful style.
