Highlights

  • Popular women's fitness center
  • Five convenient locations
  • Wide variety of classes

While dressing like a mime and lifting imaginary weights may be entertaining, it lacks the synergic power of a group fitness class. Get the most out of a trip to the gym with today's deal. For $24, you get 24 drop-in day passes to Healthworks Fitness Centers for Women, with access to a group class of your choosing each time you visit. Day passes are normally $20 apiece, giving this Groupon a $480 value. Previous members are eligible for today's Groupon. You must use your first visit by February 27, 2010, and your last visit by April 19, 2010.

You can take the classes and use the gym at any of Healthworks's five convenient locations: Back Bay, Brookline, Cambridge, Chestnut Hill, or Salem. During your numerous visits, take advantage of the locker rooms, saunas, steam rooms, and whirlpools. After your workout, relax in the bubbling waters and daydream about the next class you're going to take or imagine features for your dream birdhouse. Since Healthworks is women only, you won't have to worry about accidentally walking into the men's locker room.

Each location offers a variety of classes, including yoga, Pilates, special prenatal and postnatal yoga, cardio, and Zumba. There are classes every day of the week with a wide variety of hours to accommodate working moms, early risers, and people who like to workout at 1 p.m. Check the schedule for the dates and times of classes at your chosen location.

Reviews

Citysearchers and Yelpers alike give Healthworks a near-perfect 4.5 stars:

  • A few months ago, I decided to try Healthworks and have been going ever since. The facility itself is very nice and clean. The staff is very friendly. The instructors are always upbeat and positive. They have helped me to get in shape and to learn about what works for my body. I really like this gym. I would highly recommend it! – fshnjunkie, Citysearch
  • The facilities are terrific; from the cardio to the nautilus equipment, to the classes, to the locker-room and steam/showers. They are all fantastic. Even the cafe is a nice amenity. The hours are good and location is ideal. – sgourmandp, Citysearch
  • Love that the atmosphere is relaxed - all woman makes such a difference. – campbell_mec, Citysearch

Groupon Says

Broflex: The Gym for Dudez

Since Healthworks Fitness Center caters to lady-types, manly men might have better luck at the temple of testosterone, Broflex: The Gym for Dudez. What are some of the manly things that differentiate it from a frilly ladies' gym?

  • Televisions exclusively play Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
  • Afternoon tea parties attended by G.I. Joes instead of plush elephants
  • Personal trainers available to help you achieve Popeye arms.
  • Dumbbells consistently dotted with racecar stickers
  • Same amount of crying, but much louder
