Cedar Creek Veterinary Clinic's compassionate animal physicians treat all manner of faithful pet patients with kindness and care. Dog and cat examinations encompass thorough routine physicals ($37.50) whereas exotic-creature exams ($42) treat less-ordinary comrades including birds, reptiles, ferrets, and rabbits trapped within magicians’ hats. A host of bug-fighting vaccinations ($11–$22) combat furball ailments, and fecal exams check for the presence of harmful intestinal parasites ($19.50). Pet microchip installation ($36) keeps track of furry pals prone to wandering off in search of bacon-scented postal workers.
Certified farrier Mike Marquis's slogan is "Putting balace back into every step." But Mike isn't a yogi, nor does he treat vertigo. Instead, he works with the animals he is passionate about: horses. Mike specializes in natural barefoot performance trimming to help care for and stabilize domestic horses. Each day, the horses he works and plays with bring him great joy and stress relief, so he works hard to continue educating himself in farrier science and cutting-edge carrot-origami techniques to keep his horses healthy and happy. For trimming appointments, Mike travels to a horse owner's home or barn, where observes the horse in motion and then skillfully trims down their hooves.
Surrounded by a lush ring of trees and matted with verdant grass, the 5-acre outdoor area at The Bark Park gives pooches a place to play and relax, either in the company of their owners or under the watchful eyes of the park’s staff. While they run free in the sun or laze in the shade, each guest gets the chance to socialize with other dogs and expend energy that might otherwise be spent on selling their collars for treat money. The canine caretakers also offer a concierge service that picks up dogs for daycare and returns them home after.
The groomer from Paradise Paws rolls up to homes in a mobile grooming vehicle stocked with grooming tools and products for dogs and cats. With each express groom, pets are never crated and get the groomer's undivided attention during baths, cuts, and nail trims.
“What was a quiet section of Michigan 139 in central Berrien County has turned into a heaven of sorts for horse lovers,” writes a reporter for the South Bend Tribune. That 39-acre elysian stretch, surrounded by fertile Michigan vineyards, is Concord Ridge Equestrian Center. There, equines clip drumrolls against the soil on a cross-country course complete with banks and water jumps, and riders on the Natural Horsemanship Course brush up on skills such as posture and honking motions at passing clydesdales. The center’s teaching team dispenses instruction to eager pupils on the three outdoor arenas and two indoor arenas. Students can then take their newfound expertise out onto the network of riding trails or the nine pastures. Chatter about riding apparel and technique drifts from an upstairs lounge, where guests find WiFi, elevated bleachers, and a kitchen.
The animal lovers at Green Paws Unlimited care for pets like they're members of their own families while their human companions are away. They spared no expense when constructing their dog park, lining the indoor, air-conditioned facility with an eco-friendly synthetic recycled turf to ensure canine comfort and safety. For cats, the animal experts packed a play area with toys and climbing structures, in addition to surfaces designed specifically for optimal napping in their kitty condos. They treat overnight boarders to cushy suites with television, room service, and around-the-clock care while administering personalized services such as walks, massages, and grooming. The 24-hour online webcams monitor furry friends, giving owners the opportunity to check on their pets from vacation destinations or work and to capture footage adorable enough to submit to America's Funniest Home Videos.

The canine experts at PetVilla believe that blueberry facials and CPR aren’t just for two-legged creatures. The staff trains in dog-first-aid courses, ensuring the safety of their animal guests, who visit for play-filled days of doggy daycare or stay overnight under 24-hour watch. While boarding, the pooches sleep in lodging dens with cots and join daycare guests for frolicking in specialized groups. Senior canines relax on their own, whereas puppies join each other to romp about and prank call Clifford the Big Red Dog.
PetVilla also pampers its four-legged customers with grooming services. These range from basic ear cleaning and gland expression to luxurious facials and fur styling. The groomers have even been known to give pooches green mohawks before St. Patrick’s day or walks through a punk-rock festival.
Nana-N-Paws' team keeps a round-the-clock watch over owners' beloved dogs, whether they're romping in the 7,000-square-foot indoor play area, dashing along the fence of the 11,000-square-foot outdoor playground, or snoozing in the cage-free overnight center. Private suites are also available for dogs to wind down. The staff splits canines into dedicated age- and size-appropriate areas, such as Loveable Lapdogs for visitors under 25 pounds, and the Senior Center for older dogs. The facility also houses a full-service grooming shop and team of experienced obedience trainers.
New to the Lansing area, Pawsitively Healthy houses pups during grooming, training, gym, or daycare visits. The more than 7,000-square-foot facility is outfitted to entertain pets while their owners are at work, running errands, or happily chewing toys with little distraction. Staff members, led by a manager with veterinary experience, watch and wash canines inside the gym and fill retail spaces with handcrafted pet items from local artists. Matthew has a dirty job, but, as every dog owner has discovered, it's a very necessary job. As owner of Super Scoopers, LLC, he deploys teams
to yards all across Mid-Michigan to locate and dispose of excrement left by man's best friend. Always health-conscious, they completely sterilize their tools between each appointment to prevent the spread of bacteria from yard to yard. They also dispose of all the waste material they collect in an environmentally conscious way. They like to meet their clients, but particularly enjoy encounters with their clients' pooches. Teams invite their customers to leave dogs outdoors while they work, on the off chance that the animals learn to clean up after themselves by example.
