Though an old photograph can lead to delightful nostalgia, the bright imagery often becomes faded due to age and overuse of scratch-and-sniff functions. Restore priceless mementos with today's Groupon: for $89, you get $270 worth of photo restoration at MWD Photography in Elmhurst.

MWD Photography tactfully captures, preserves, and restores precious memories with professional services and photo-immortalizing equipment. The expert image doctors will begin the restoration process by copying the original photograph to ensure its safety. Photographs up to 8"x10" will then be relieved of cracks, tears, fading, Olde English fonts, and discolorations through a series of careful adjustments to new print that is faithful to the original. The first print costs $120, and the image modernizers can treat additional prints at the rate of $45 for one 8"x10", $30 for one 5"x7", $40 for two 4"x5" pics, $45 for eight wallet-size editions, and five shillings to have it shellacked onto the Saturday Evening Post.

In addition to restoring memories of relatives in their pre-coffee-stained forms, MWD Photography can accommodate customers with additional mounting services. Feel free to upgrade to have color added to black-and-white images, or help furnish remaining picture frames with extra prints. MWD Photography can also reproduce an image on an artist's canvas in oils to evoke the feel of an actual painting or people covered in paint.

The Groupon Guide to: This Year's Coolest Gadget

Technological achievements have made gadgets more advanced than ever—the only problem is that no one knows which ones are the most must-havingest. Solve that problem with this list of the year's coolest gadgets:

  • SolarScoot: This urban scooting transporter, made of imported Brazilian coacaba wood with decals designed by Tristan Cuehlo, certainly isn’t embarrassing for a full-grown adult to be riding in front of other full-grown adults.
  • SongDog: Days at the dog park have never been more fun with this urban technophile's dream—a helmet that gently hypnotizes your dog into bark-singing your favorite MP3s.
  • MirrorMD: Ideal for the young, health-conscious urban professional, this miraculous mirror reads your skin pallor, muscle tension, blood sugar, and retinal-reaction speed, then recommends that day's mixture of vitamins before predicting your D.O.D. (Date of Divergence).
  • UrbanDogHat: Compatible with SongDog and the forthcoming SongDog Pro II, this techno-leap is another kind of hat…that dogs can wear!
