Rather than hiding away in a back office, owner Gene Tang likes to personally greet each guest at 1515 Restaurant, which is only a stone’s throw from the Pepsi Center and Coors Field. While awaiting their tables, visitors sit along a stately wood bar or on plush banquettes before a host escorts them into the dining room upstairs, where exposed-brick walls and vintage photographs contribute to the restaurant’s cozy and elegant atmosphere.
Once seated, diners savor classic, seasonal dishes modernized by Chef Garren Teich, whose skills in molecular gastronomy earned him a feature in the “Chef and Tell” segment of Denver Westword. He and his crew aren’t afraid to push the culinary envelope, preparing lamb using the sous vide technique and adorning Colorado striped bass with Meyer lemon foam. Using an iPad, an in-house sommelier helps diners scroll through the Wine Spectator Award-winning wine list to find the best beverage to complement their meal.
