Questions and Answers

@Matt C – for this Groupon you may purchase bottle of wine from cellar and drink it at the bar or just use the Groupon to purchase from the bar.
Thanks
Danny

Still not clear to me, can the coupon be used to purchase bottled wine — not to drink there, but to take home?
Sally

cool spot. great deal.

Can you please explain about the corkage fee?

Can I use the Groupon tonight?
Yeah like Sally R. said, Can the Groupon be used at the “Wine Store” to take purchases home, or can it only be used to eat/drink onsite?
Is there anywhere where I can find the food menu? Thanks!
who needs food?

@Sally/Julia – this Groupon is for in-store use only. You may purchase a bottle from the cellar and bring it to the bar though
@Kat – this fee is for any bottle that is purchased in the cellar and brought to the bar
@Gretchen – the Groupon is available starting tomorrow
@Marianne – the menu is linked in the editorial below the image
Thanks!

I also enjoy going to drink nice wine at 57 degrees – if you haven’t been, this is a great opportunity to check it out for a discount!
I feel a little deceived. I bought the Groupon thinking I would be able to use it to purchase wine bottles to go (since that restriction is not listed on the main ad page). I doubt I would spend $50 worth of wine/beer in-store only.
@Brittany: if it helps, the trolley stops only a few blocks from there. Perfect for pre-drinking before going out downtown or something…at least that’s my plan :)
Yes, you can modify your purchase up until the deal closes, as long as you haven’t printed your Groupons – once you print, you can no longer change your purchase. You’ll see all your purchases on ‘My Groupons’, with a link to ‘Change my purchase’ where appropriate
Im looking forward to bringing my husband here for a date. Thank you for offering such a great discount (including drinks since many do not). $50 should be easy to spend :)
This is a great place for wine. They’re still trying to get the food situated but they have snacky snacks. Anyone will enjoy it. They’re knowledgable and if you have a wine collection, they can store it. The coupon says you drink the wine at the bar, so there’s a corking fee of 8 bucks which is typical. But they let you take the bottle home of course. They whole point is they want you to stay and enjoy the place and try the snacks. This is for sure a good deal.
How does the whole corking fee/must drink in the place work for the beer? Beer bottles don’t generally have corks… but I don’t really care for beer and my boyfriend doesn’t care for wine, so each of us finishing off a bottle by ourselves in one sitting is highly unlikely! Do you just have to buy beer by the glass to use the groupon?
Thanks!
I can’t find a link to the menu anywhere on the page. What type of food is offered, or where can I find the menu on the web site?
Nevermind, I see on the menu there’s a $4 beer corking fee. My bad. Is there a list of the beers available as well? There are only 3 on the menu, and I imagine those are the by-the-glass ones.
Thanks!
Can you use it for special events like the “Drink Like a Pro” series?
I know it’s been asked but,
Can you use it for special events like the “Drink Like a Pro” series?

@Matt @Christopher -

Thanks!

Is there seating for groups or is it around the bar only? Could we make a reservation for a small group? If so, can the one groupon be used for all if in one tab?
Follow up to Chamila E… As there are only a few tables, but more seats at the bar and plenty of room to mill around, how does the “one groupon per table” clause get applied?
On the way home, I stopped by to check the place out.
I wouldn’t describe it as cozy or inviting. Front patio seating needs LOTS of work.
But they did have Straffe Hendrik in the little beer fridge. Points for that.
The deal would be a steal if you could use it for retail. At or below cost actually.
I wanted to purchase this for my dad and his wife, they are mid 70’s what type of crowd goes here? Will they feel out of place with 20 somethings or is this a place everyone goes to?
Hi there,
How does one get in touch with the owner. We purchased a Groupon, but won’t be in San Diego until 09/16/11-our Groupon expires on 08/27/11.
Anyone know if they would extend the date?
Help from Oregon!

Great Groupon!
Can you use it for special events like the “Drink Like a Pro” series? And can you use it for simple grab and go bottle purchases… because I’m pretty sure I want to do both, like immediately. By the by, this place rocks. Happy to see a good joint there.
