Questions and Answers
The fine print indicates that the deal can’t be used until Monday April 27th.
I purchased 1 groupon and came back today to pick up another before the deal closes and I was unable to make another purchase, why?

Just to be clear..This is a $35 dollor coupon good for the purchase of any item on the menu at any Chicagoland Bar Louie? I can use 1 groupon per visit and do not have to use all of them at one time? They are good til 8/09
Thanks Joe, that worked…I was able to adjust my pledge…picked up a couple more for my monthly “girls lunch”.
Last night we redeemed our first of four groupons at Bar Louie. Our total was $37.00 and change. When we advised the waiter that we were using our groupon, they made a deal out of it, rang a bell, wouldn’t take our money (the amount over the groupon amount) and gave us coupons for free drinks and appetizers that we can use on our next visit!
AWESOME!!!

This groupon is kinda weird..I have used it twice and both times for the full $35, but had to pay $8.65 in taxes and gratuity…I knew that we had to pay taxes on it, but how is Bar Louies charging a 20% gratuity on carry out? I mean both times they have made me pay a gratuity on a carry out and stated it was mandatory to use the groupon..How is a gratuity mandatory for a carry out? Maybe i need to try a different location besides Hyde Park
Tried to use my Groupon last night at 226 W. Chicago Ave (8-24-09/6:30 pm). I ordered carryout and when I picked it up they said I couldn’t use the Groupon unless I dined in. There is nothing on the Groupon that states that and I pointed this out to the “manager/bartender/waitress”. She told me in a hostile manner that she had specific instructions to never allow a Groupon with carryout. I further explained that my girlfriend was sitting at home waiting, the food is ready and there is only 4 people in your bar, so are you really going to let this sale not happen? She again stated in a very unfriendly manner that she would not allow the Groupon. At this point I grabbed the Groupon back from her hand and she told me to leave the bar or she would find someone to throw me out! So I guess dining in is no longer an option either. I left the bar and my girlfriend called the Randolph location to ask about Groupon and carryout. “No carryouts with the Groupon” she was informed.
I wasted over an hour in ordering, driving, trying to pick up the food and writing this note, not to mention I had to spend more time on getting dinner elsewhere, and involving my girlfriend in the call to another store.
I would like you to forward this on to “Bar Louie” so they can at minimum, turn a watchful eye on the person who was supposedly in charge at the bar, and if you must “dine in” with the groupon, state it on the Groupon. You may also want to think about the idea that any business is far better than no business. My word to you is regardless of the Groupon, why would you be hostile to anyone that walks in your door for a preordered sale especially when you only have 4 people in your bar? Additionally, one of the four customers was trying to check out and he commented to the same girl about her attitude (before my situation erupted).
At this point I am left with a Groupon which I paid for and apparently I cannot use with 2 1/2 days left. Thanks Bar Louie for hiring such bright, friendly people and apparently having made the business decision to alter the Groupon after I purchased it. I would find it extremely difficult to ever return to a Bar Louie with so many other great choices in the city. Additionally, I am the type to tell all my family and friends of the money I paid for the Groupon and the waste of time and hostile attitude which I received for it.
“Say NO to Bar Louie” if they try another Groupon,
Joe

Joseph,
I had the same problem. Wound up never redeeming groupon. 15 bucks down the drain. Will NEVER go to a Bar Louie again. Terrible service and terrible attitude.

I bought the Bar Loui 57% deal but the ’ Point does not have or display my coupon for printing and I want to use it tonight. Please help. Henry 630-215-9391.
