Questions and Answers

So if it’s one per person, that means I couldn’t buy more than 1 for gifts for friends? I’m trying to understand if it means that I can’t use more than 1 from A&I or if I can only buy 1 under my name?
Once someone buys this, how long do they have to use it?
Make sure you read the fine print! You have it use it all in one order, so if you don’t use all $60 at once, you lose the rest!
Do these books allow you to add captions, like scrapbooks?

Stanislava – the Groupon is good for calendars and the photo books. No cards.
Facebook user – you can only purchase 1 Groupon today from the DC feature, but you can use it towards as many A&I books as you want.
Mollie – you have a full year to use the Groupon
Kayleigh – yes, you can add captions and text, and a whole bunch of other stuff too. The software is really cool.
how much is shipment and tax? I can’t find it anywhere on the site.
and can i buy one and my husband buy another?
Since it all needs to be used in one order, can we design and order 3 different books in “one order”?
I’m not in DC. Since it’s an online process I assume anyone can take advantage of the deal?

Stella – shipping is usually less than $15. Yes, you and your hubby can each get one – and – you can design as many books as you want. The Groupon is a $60 credit towards your final checkout, wether you have 1 book or 3 :)
Rindy – you’re right. Since its online and they ship anywhere, you can get it from any city.
Wow! This deal seems to be really getting around. Last week NY and Boston. Before 2-3 other cities.
Can this be given as a gift?
I hope so because that’s why I purchased it.

Yea, you can give it as a gift, but they will need to log in with your name and Groupon ID#.

If I order a photo book for a value of $45.00, does the other $15.00 can be use for S&H?
I need help ordering! The code on my groupon isn’t working!
I order this deal but haven’t heard from anyone and don’t see it listed on “My stuff” – any idea how I can see if the deal went through?
I purchased this deal but cannot download the enormous Book Creator program. I’ve tried both Windows and Mac, both at work and at home, on speedy connections. Very frustrating.

Liz – not sure what to tell you if the download isnt working properly. Try talking with A&I directly, and if they cant resolve the issue, you can call Groupon customer service for a refund.
Thanks Chris. I did. I’m waiting to hear back from them. Bummer.
I can’t delete my post, so I just wanted to send a quick update that a representative from A & I got back to me offering to mail me a copy of the software that I was struggling to download. Very nice of them.
Good to know. I havent tried to download it yet, so I’m glad to hear that they have been helpful.
The Groupon asks for my Groupon ID# to use this. Where do I find that ID number? I don’t see it my account information — is there somewhere else I should look?
I was extremely disappointed with this groupon. A couple things:
The software to make the book/calendar was not downloadable for days right around the x-mas time of year.
It was not available long enough that I missed the cut off to get my calendars by x-mas.
When the software was downloadable the calendar template was not in it.
When I finally did get the calendar done, I found out that they’re charging me CA sales tax – although they promise to refund it.
And you can’t use the groupon for shipping.
Which they’re gauging you for. Three 8 1/2x 11 calendars do not cost $21 to ship UPS ground. They’re padding their shipping costs to backfill the discount they’re giving on the groupon.
In the end I ended up paying $40 for 4 calendars which was a decent deal but it was much more of a hassle than it needed to be.
I was extremely disappointed in this Groupon and this company in general. Unlike the others here, I didn’t have any problem with the download from the website, that was fine. But when I tried to place an order for 3 items, 2 books and a calendar, the software wouldn’t let me place it all in one order, so when I tried to combine the orders into one I could only use $20 of my Groupon towards the order. Tried to contact customer service prior to placing the order then tried to cancel the order a couple of days ago and still haven’t heard back from them in over a week. This is the most awful experience I have ever had with a company contact wise. There was absolutely no value in this purchase unless you are buying one item that is very expensive and you are not doing it around a holiday.
I agree this had very little value. This has been a horrible experience for me as well. This company was clearly not prepared for the onslaught of people as a result of the groupons they placed in multiple cities around the same time. I ordered my book as a Christmas present on Dec. 15 and still have not received it! The software is not great and the customer service is bad. They seem to have little control over the production of the books and changes cannot be made easily. Thumbs down!
Add me to the list of disappointed Groupon groupies as well… This deal was a let down on so many levels! First of all, there was the download of the software. After close to a thirty-minute download wait, I sat down to design my calendars and found out that the software was rudimentary. I have previously used Snapfish for Christmas calendars and the options there were head and shoulders above A&I’s. I cannot even talk about options, since there was only one background that was not ridiculous, there was no option to add photos to any of the date cells, the photo effects could not be re-sized, and so on. And after all of this, I ended up paying $40 for 3 calendars which at Snapfish would have cost me extra $5 (at least last year they did, granted with promotional pricing). Oh, and did I mention that they did not deliver the calendars by Christmas? To sum up – a let-down all around!
I wanted to point this out to GROUPON that this groupon is actually not redemable as advertised on the front page: From the AI FAQs:
-CAN I ORDER SEVERAL DIFFERENT PRODUCTS AT ONCE? I DON’T SEE AN OPTION FOR THIS SERVICE.
At this time, Book Creator does not allow for ordering multiple products at the same time, only multiple copies of the same product. For instance, if you want to place and order for an 8×8 book, a 5×5 book and a calendar, you must place three separate orders. We apologize for the inconvenience and anticipate this option to be added in a future version of Book Creator.
-——————————————————————————————————————-
Since the GROUPON Fine Print says : " Must redeem in single order.", it’s a little hard to “photo books that are perfect to display the photos you took of the Ansel Adams exhibit. Make a handful of small books to promote your art, photography, or theater production, commemorate your dog with his own coffee-table tome, or give your significant other, mother, or mailman a sweet gift for the holidays.” which implies making multiple books not printing the same book over and over.
They do have this option for saving on shipping but I don’t know if it works with using the groupon. As stated above, someone emailed them but I don’t know if they received an answer.
-I AM ORDERING SEVERAL DIFFERENT PRODUCTS. CAN I SHIP THEM TOGETHER AT ONE ADDRESS TO SAVE ON CHIPPING FEES?
Yes. Order your first item with regular shipping and the others with ‘Group’ shipping. Please let us know which orders you wish to ‘group’ by emailing your order numbers to us at books@aandi.com.

GROUPON needs to address this issue since nearly 600 purchased this in DC alone based on false claims. I bought this as a gift and I’m now embarrased that I will have to tell her that it won’t work as expected.

I was unable to complete my order before the Groupon expired because when I emailed the company with questions, THEY NEVER RESPONDED. There are MANY other companies that do the same thing. I will not be using this one.

NOTE: Groupons with A&I can NEVER expire, according to law. I have notified Groupon and A&I. In spite of this, A&I still says on its website that the Groupons expire, even though I actually got an email from them (after insisting that it’s against state law) that the expiration date is a “mistake.” Yeah, one that nets them big bucks! Another word that’s more legally correct – FRAUD.
Groupon seems not to have leaned on A&I to remove the expiration date, which is flat out fraud by A&I. Both A&I and Groupon are aware that these Groupons can never expire … Groupon will refund your purchase, but if you want what you paid for, insist that you get it, and you will succeed.

Can the Groupon be used for their holiday greeting cards and calendars, or is it good for photo books only? Thanks!
