Choose from Four Options

  • $30 for 4 90-minute beginner tango lessons at the Hollywood location (a $60 value)
  • $30 for 4 90-minute beginner tango lessons at the downtown location (a $60 value)
  • $65 for 10 90-minute beginner tango lessons at the Hollywood location (a $135 value)
  • $65 for 10 90-minute beginner tango lessons at the downtown location (a $135 value)

Students learn the fundamentals of tango including walking steps, turns, balance, rhythm, and leading and following techniques. Each session gets up to 50 students trotting while instructors and assistants give individual attention to the dancers.

Sessions at the downtown location start on November 7, 2012, January 16, 2013, March 27, 2013, and June 12, 2013, and run from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sessions at the Hollywood location start on November 3, 2012, January 12, 2013, March 23, 2013, and June 8, 2013, and run from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

A Puro Tango

Shaky legs gain surer footing at A Puro Tango, where instructor Linda Valentino helps students chart the unmapped regions of dance floors with classes and workshops dedicated to the fine art of Argentine tango. Linda's expertise stems from 23 years of dancing and 17 years of teaching. Linda also frequently visits Buenos Aires, where she studies alongside esteemed instructors and dances tango in the city's clubs. Classes for all skill levels focus on the sultry steps of tango, milonga, and vals cruzado, and workshops regularly host visiting teachers and scientists eager to share the latest advancements in self-dancing shoes.
