Does the Groupon apply only to group classes? I’m interested in taking the virtual language courses. Could I use it towards those?
When would these classes be applicable? On the ABC language website, the next group classes for (example) Spanish starts in April. Would we follow ABC language class schedule?
The website says there is a one-time $50 registration fee for news students. Is that included or waived for a groupon course? I’m also interested in a language that is currently offered only as private lesson. Can the groupon be used for private lessons?
I’m interested in having my 3 year old son being a student. Is that a possiblity, and if so what do I need to do to make it happen. I see they do a one-one session at your home.

Amandine- Yes you would follow the schedule listed on ABC Language Schools site.
Madalene- The registration fee is included in this Groupon feature. This is only valid for group classes.

On their website ABC Language School lists 6 weeks of lessons in Spanish and Farsi (the only two languages I checked) for $220. The 8-week class shows $270… which is correct?

Is there any way of knowing if the teachers are native speakers? I really want to take beginning Arabic, but I’d like to know where the teacher would be from and what dialect he/she speaks.

I would like to take a 12 week course in Korean but because I don’t think I could learn much in 6-weeks time since I am a beginner, I was wondering if I could I buy this groupon and use its value as credit towards a 12-week course purchase and pay the difference? Thanks.

To answer your questions:
• Location – Our classroom location is in Shaw at 7th & S St NW, 1 block from the Shaw Howard metro. Street parking is relatively easy.
• Class schedule – You can see our group class schedule on our website at http://www.abclang.com/dc/classes_group.htm . We launch new sections of each class every month as long as there is a minimum enrollment of three people per class. On-going group classes continue on the same day/time. If you do not see your language or level on the schedule, check with us as we may launch a new section if we have the minimum enrollment. If we do not have the minimum enrollment, we will apply the groupon value towards private or virtual lessons.
• Registration fee – Includes in groupon & covers books / materials for class
• Children’s classes – Our group lessons are geared for adults, if your interested in kids classes, we will probably have set up a private class at an additional cost. E-mail us at info@abclanguagedc.com for more info
• Expiration date – Read the terms under the groupon, it is valid until September, as long as you start the class be then.
• Teachers – All of our teachers are native speakers with experience in teaching their language.
• Packages – If you would like to enroll in a bigger package than 6 weeks, such as 8 or 12, then we will apply the groupon towards the value of a 6 week package and you pay the difference.
• Enrollment – Once you purchase your groupon, send us an email to info@abclanguagedc.com with your name, contact # and language/level in the subject and we will confirm your enrollment. If you plan to start classes at a later date, send us an email 2 weeks prior to whenever you’d like to start to confirm. Please don’t show up for class without getting a confirmation email first! Sometimes we don’t offer classes that are on the schedule if we don’t get the minimum enrollement!

I didn’t see the answer to the question someone else asked: I’m looking for an intermediate Arabic class; is that offered, or just beginner classes? I see that we check with ABC to determine whether they’ll launch a class once they get 3 people, but wouldn’t that take a while?…. Thanx!
How often is Portuguese for Spanish speakers offered? I just want to make sure there will be a class before Sept. other than the April one (which I can’t do)!

I was looking at the offerings and am VERRY interested in the A.S.L. but it seems to only be by private lesson. I was wondering how many private lessons the groupon will cover? Beacouse I couldn’t find the info on the site for that class.

So I ordered 2 Groupons simultaneously for the ABC class – one was for me and one a gift for a friend. But since I put, “give as gift”, both Groupons are now showing as being given as gifts. Is this going to be a problem, or can I have one changed to my name? Thanks for the help.

I suggest you purchase the groupon before it expires & see if we will offer group class with a schedule/level that matches yours. If we don’t have a group that matches up with you, then we will will find a way to accomodate you, i.e. applying the groupon voucher value towards private lessons.

A quesiton that was asked above was not answered— if the language that we want is not offered as a group class and we can put the groupon towards a private lesson, how many private lessons will the $270 value cover?
Jen@groupon, I have several questions that haven’t been answered yet;
1. What if I buy my groupon on a Monday night in which there is a full moon, yet it’s a leap year and that year is an even number, does that mean my groupon doesn’t expire for four years?
2 What if the instructor wears a blue sweater vest to teach, which really irritates me when people wear those, and it causes me to be sick and miss a week, do I get a refund or can I apply the difference to another class?
3. I want to take a language which isn’t on the schedule, is there a secret list that you don’t publish just to throw us off so then we can ask and then you’ll tell us?
4. Wear are the classes held? I mean I know there is a link and I could look it up on the school website, but everyone else has asked so I just wanted to REALLY make sure that’s the real address.
Thanks for your help, I’m sure you don’t have anything better to do than answer all these vital questions over the weekend. ’nuff said

ABC has been very unresponsive to my calls or emails. I did sign up using their enrollment form, but they don’t seem to want to communicate with people. Anyone else have this issue?
