Questions and Answers
I’d also like to know of any age or height limits. Can a small 11-year-old participate?
By that I mean, can he take part in all of the activities, including the 50-foot cargo-net climb, zipline exit, cable crossings and final test?
Depends how athletic they are I supppose. My little 8 year old brother should have no problem with any of the tasks described. I think I might buy this one!
I would love to buy this deal but there are only five weekends left between now and Oct. 1 and only two days to use it each week. I would love to try this deal but I would like the typical 1 year expiration so I know I have enough open weekends ahead to use this.
Hi All,
Our age limit for the facility at Redhook is 14 and comes with a note regarding height. The challenge course is designed for young adults to adults and is very difficult for people under 4’10".

The expiration is really 2010? Just making sure because I’d like to buy this but don’t think I can fit this in within such a short time-frame.
This Groupon is good for use to the end of Oct 2010. We will be offering another in the spring of 2011.
Cheers,
Scott C

A few questions:
(1) Will you be able to fit more than 100-200 people into 5 weekends? Is there a cap on how many total Groupons are available for this offer (100 to ‘make it on’, but when does it sell out, 200+?)
(2) Will all who purchase be guaranteed a spot within 5 weekends? Concerned if I buy and try to reserve a spot and find they are all booked up. If I can’t book a reservation due to all spots filled is a refund offered?
(3) What is the max booking for 1 day. Meaning, how many people can make reservations for 1 day before that day is full?
(4) Groupon info reads: “Though normally a corporate team-building facility, the course is also open to families and friends. Individuals without groups will be paired up with others”.
How does this work exactly? How many people to a group? Is it a solo obstacle course or do you have to work with a partner/team to make it through certain challenges?
How do I remove my name from this discussion so that I don’t get an email message every time someone comments?
Tom – next time don’t check the box below the comment box that says “Follow this topic by email”. Once you’ve checked that box, you’re gonna get an email every time someone comments on the thread.
@San:
There seems to be a typo in the groupon – We are running these weekend session until the last weekend of Oct.
1. On Saturdays and Sundays we have 4 session times each with a limit of 15 participants.
2. There are a total of 21 days available for booking from Sept 22nd through Oct 31st. Each day has a capacity of 50 participants.
3. The challenge course is designed so that people can explore as individuals or assists others throughout the course, it’s up to participants.
Scott C-If you look at the bottom of the email, there is a link you can click on that will end your participation in the discussion.
so, is there a refund if you can’t get scheduled?
Hi All,
There are so many open slots on the schedule, you’d be very hard pressed to not get in a time and date you want. There are 21 days to choose from with each day offering 4 2.5 hour session.
There is a refund available as per all Groupon offers based on the fine print.
ALSO – Adventura will be offering this deal to everyone for the next two months. So if you miss buying the groupon, you can contact us, let us know, and still buy passes at the $45pp rate.

Are you running these over Labor Day weekend?
@Blanche F. We’ll be running these every weekend between now and Oct 31st.
Can I purchase gift Groupons for each of my family members and then use them at the same time?
@Jon S. Yes you can do that.
How is the zipline? Is it short and pretty level or long and steep? Is the sole purpose of this challenge course for team building, or is it actually difficult and a lot of active movement involved?
@Elaine L. The zipline that is part of the challenge course is short and pretty level. It is the exit off the challenge course.
The function of the challenge course is to provide both individuals and groups of people an opportunity to step outside their daily comfort zone into an experience that reveals everyone is far more capable than many give themselves credit for.
It is a physical activity, but does not require Olympic training to participate in. There are areas on the course that are very challenging, fortunately you have choices everywhere you go and can avoid to double black diamond activities if you choose to.

Expiration TYPO – should read Aug 22nd through Oct 31st 2010.
What type of physical shape do participants need to be in to complete and participate in the activities? Will this be too difficult for someone who normally doesn’t work out?
I was originally drawn to this for the zip line portion, but is the zip line portion of this fairly short compared to the other activities?
Regarding the 50-foot cargo-net climb, if someone is not able to complete or do that is there another option for them in order to still do the zipline exit?
What exactly do you mean by cable crossings – what type of physical strength does that entail?
@Roz The challenge course is a physical experience, but it does not require Olympic training status. We’ve designed the challenge course so that just about everyone can explore it. Some areas will be harder than others.
The zipline is the exit off the course system. Yes, it is short comparatively. Though you are welcome to ride it multiple times if you want to climb back up :)
The cargo net climb is at an angle of 45 degrees and it similar to climbing a ladder. There is another method for gaining access to the course, but it is a vertical climb straight up a 50 foot pole.
Cable crossing is the term used to describe the challenge stations up on the course. For instance, you might find yourself standing on a platform with 4 direction choices. To the right is a series of rope swings that you use to travel to the next platform. To the left is a long beam approximately 20’ wide that you cross using ninja balancing skills. There are swings, bridges, jumps, cat walks, etc all over the place up there.

If you have 3 people in your party is that a team? or is there just 2 people on a team and the 3rd one gets matched up with someone else?

Hello,
There is a Groupon error in regards to the expiration date. This should read ’Expires October 31st, 2010.
Thanks
Dan

Dear Scott,
Thank you kindly for providing the information so succinctly.
We are a family from Canada and will be arriving shortly from Canada. After reading your responses in the Discussion page, we feel very comfortable in booking our family and are looking forward to participating.
Sincere Regards, Catherine
oops! I meant arriving shortly into Seattle. That’s what you get for typing on the bed at 2:50 in the morning!
@Catherine :)
No worries, I have a few typos up there as well. We look forward to having you all out to play!
I am interested in bringing a group of 12 people total? Are there any dates that could accommodate this? Can I do this? The teens have been begging me to do a challenge course and it would be awesome for them!
@Rebecca – Yes, just give us a call and we’ll get your crew on the schedule.

I just booked an entire session for a group and Scott was very accomodating. Thanks Scott!
What is the zipline weight limit?

@Cheryl C.
The challenge course and zipline has a weight limit of 265lbs
