Choose Between Two Options

The two-day excursion begins with a detailed orientation and safety talk on the shores of the river. Groups then disembark and are chauffeured to up to five of the award-winning wineries in the El Dorado region. Sommeliers grant sips of red wine and samples, and the guides sometimes stop at the tasting room in Gold Hill Retreat & Olive Oil Company for a change of pace. The next morning after breakfast, rafters tackle Class III intermediate rapids. After completing the rafting trip, groups return to camp for a deli-style lunch on the banks. This trip includes a total of four meals. Tour-goers should meet at 6500 Highway 49 in Lotus at 9 a.m. on the morning of their trip. Wine tastings can occur on day one or two, depending on the weather.

One-day trips travel along the south fork of the American River and include lunch. Customers have two options for their rafting adventure: The Gorge Run, which is 11 miles long, or the Chili Bar Run, which is 10 miles long. The Gorge Run meets at 6500 Highway 49 in Coloma at 9:45 a.m., and the Chili Bar Run meets at 8:45 a.m.
