An Aero30 tethered gas balloon rises 400 feet above the grounds of the Downtown Disney® Area. The balloon’s outer surface features hand-painted silhouettes of Peter Pan, Dumbo, Aladdin, Jasmine, Buzz Lightyear, and Tinkerbell. Its 19-foot diameter gondola can hold up to 29 passengers and a pilot, who guides the balloon skyward with the help of up to 210,000 cubic feet of helium. Visitors hover for 8 to 10 minutes while enjoying a breathtaking ride.

Aerophile

In 1993, two 25-year-old engineers, Matthieu Gobbi and Jerome Giacomoni, pursued mankind’s dream to evolve into kites when they reinvented the tethered gas balloon, which enables faster rides than the typical gas balloon. With several models to choose from, their balloons have established themselves as attractions in more than 60 places around the world, including Paris, Berlin, and Angkor Wat Temple. Renowned amusement parks, such as the Walt Disney World® Resort and Disneyland Paris® Resort, use Aerophile’s innovative balloons to introduce their visitors to the clouds. With enough space to seat up to 29 passengers, the tethered aircrafts climb up to 400 feet into the sky with the help of up to 210,000 cubic feet of helium, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding attractions and landscape.

The Groupon Guide to: Boat Clubs

Millions of people own a boat, but—surprisingly—only a few of them get together once a week to talk boat. If you own a boat and haven't joined a boat club, check out some of the topics typically covered in a boat-club meeting so you can see what you're missing:

  • What's your boat's name?
  • What would your boat's name be if your boat could have named itself?
  • What are your favorite boat memories that you haven't made yet?
  • Share the first word that comes to your mind when thinking about your boat. Choose either "boat-like" or "boaty."
  • In a perfect world, how many boats would you like each of your children to own? (This is a trick question. The correct answer is: in a perfect world, my boat is my only child.)
  • On your tax returns, what do you list as you occupation? Boat owner? Boatman? Professional boatist? Something else that has "boat" in it?
  • Is your boat here right now? Can you point it out?

Is 2013 the Year of the Boat? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
