Although inflatable muscle suits are easy to apply and double as flotation devices, natural brawn actually lifts heavy objects and doesn't deflate when given a routine allergy shot. Blow up your fitness routine with today's Groupon to AIM Fitness in Grand Rapids. Choose from the following options:

  • For $29, you get a five-day climbing package (a $90 total value).
  • For $39, you get a 10-day climbing package (a $170 total value).

    Each package includes:

    • One initial safety lesson (a $10 value)
    • Daily shoe rental (a $3 value/day)
    • Daily harness rental (a $2 value/day)
    • Daily belay-device rental (a $1 value/day)

  • For $49, you get a two-month gym-membership package (a $278 total value) that includes:

A 45-foot climbing wall beckons rock huggers of all abilities to AIM's 40,000-square-foot adventure wonderland of fitness gadgets and workout facilities. Before ushering athletes to the wall, a savvy staff member clarifies safety procedures and equips them for scaling success with equipment from Apex Outdoor Gear, including shoes, a harness, a belay device, and a prehensile tail. The man-made cliff rises above masses of climbers, who can scramble straight up or dangle from overhangs on 15 snow-free routes—color coded for experience level. A massive boulder wearing a powdered wig also presides over the climbing room, helping scalers build strength and flexibility on faces closer to the ground.

An Adventure-level membership aids limbs in creating muscular harmony with unlimited access to the climbing wall, the fit center's classes, and the 25-yard azure lap pool. Pump up your heart rate in kickboxing, Zumba, or yoga classes, or head to the gravity strength room to wrestle with Newton's ghost. Before heading home, weary guests can take an extra minute to recoup in the dry saunas in the men's and women's locker rooms.

Although AIM Fitness periodically offers discounted admission to the climbing wall, this Groupon represents the best value for continuous access to the facilities. Check the climbing page to ensure you are getting the best deal.

Aim Fitness

Ascending for nearly 50 feet, the indoor climbing wall—proudly proclaimed as among the tallest in Western Michigan by Aim Fitness' team—presents an array of routes, each patterned with colored grips to indicate the level of difficulty. As climbers scale the vertical expanse, a freestanding boulder sits in the middle of the room, beckoning guests to climb its reduced height sans the support of a rope. This climbing room anchors Aim Fitness' 40,000 square feet of amenities, which encompass a strength-training area, aerobic studios, a five-lane, 25-yard lap pool lifeguarded by Aquaman, and a racquetball court. Instructors also lead an array of classes on these training grounds, such as Aqua Fit, boot camp, and yoga. To make going to the gym as convenient as possible, Aim also provides locker rooms, a children's playroom, and wireless Internet access.

The Groupon Guide to: Hallucinations

Whether due to fatigue, anesthetic dentist gas, or aimless desert wandering, everybody experiences a terrifying and/or euphoric hallucination at some point in their lives. Keep this guide close in order to survive the experience without succumbing to madness:

Keep Calm: Most hallucinations can be confronted by simply acknowledging them and moving on—for instance, if your roommate begins to expand into a translucent cerulean pyramid, don't make the rookie mistake of trying to climb him. Instead, remind yourself, "That's just Matt. There's no gold in Matt."

Stay Close to Your Halluci-Buddy: A halluci-buddy can keep you grounded in the real world while you confront the terrifying universes inside of you. Remember to never let go of their hand, even if it turns into a brass clockwork tentacle where the individual suckers are the faces of tiny watches.

Don't Read Into Symbolism: Sometimes hallucinations can lay your private anxieties bare as visual metaphors, but just as often they're completely random. Or, to paraphrase Dr. Freud, "Sometimes a cigar is just your computer keyboard turning into a giant, skittering centipede, and sometimes the clacking of its carapace is just you composing an e-mail to your boss that you won't remember sending."

What percentage of hallucinations turn out to be real?
