Hello! I have always wanted to try this restaurant and am excited to see them on Groupon! I wanted to know if the groupon is also good for the Tuesday Night Date Night – 3 courses for $20?

My question is how this works. I tried to buy one of these for Solera last time. It said it was already “tipped”. I was never charged and didn’t get the Groupon. I tried to come back in and it said that I didn’t have an account with them.

Am I doing something wrong? This one is showing as “purchased”, but I think that it what it said last time.

Hi,
This Groupon is good on alcohol. If you buy the Groupon today you can use it tomorrow. If you buy the Groupon on Saturday you can use it on Sunday. If you buy it on Sunday you can use it on Monday.

I have been having issues too. But when I go to “My Stuff” it says, “Your order is currently being processed” And then it lists me purchasing 3 deals, when the limit is 2.

Be carefull. I got the same message and my order went through. Check your account page to see if its in there. You may have brought more then you wanted.

Hi,
If it says processing that means the system is in the process of charging your card. Check back in a couple of hours and look under your account and if it says purchased than you have successfully bought the groupon. I do not recommend purchasing another one if you see that your account is processing because you might be buying multiples.

TIPPED means that the deal is on. If there aren’t enough interested, the deal doesn’t take effect. Think of it like a “reserve” on an eBay auction. The business needs X amount or more to make it worth their while.

Due to heavy volume we are experiencing some timing out errors but we are working on a solution. In many cases the purchase is going through even though the request times out. In the meantime you can go to “My Groupons” to check if the purchase went through. If it shows up under “My Groupons” it worked and you are all set. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and are working on a solution. Thanks!

We ate at Al Vento for the first time last week and it was great! There is not much of a waiting area and the bar only seats about 8-10 people so don’t go much earlier than your reservation (at least on a Friday night).

I bought 2 by accident, and I found that if you go to “my stuff” and if it hasn’t gone through yet, you can click on “edit purchase.” I was able to cancel one of them, so that I only had one purchased again. It still hasn’t fully gone through, so we’ll see if it worked! Worth a try if you bought too many in error….

Yes you are correct. The day you buy the Groupon you can use the following day not the day you purchase it. If you have an account set up it should be in your account, but if you don’t have an account than most likely it didn’t go through and you didn’t buy it.

Looks like I have an order pending, though I’ve tried several times to get this to go through. It’s frustrating, but I imagine it’s more frustrating for the Groupon folks as they try to resolve it quickly. Al Vento is a fav location, so I’m hoping it all works out soon. I’ll keep checking back. Technology…it always decides to kick back at the most inconvenient times.

I would not cancel it because its been in the processing. Processing is based on the volume and since there are so many groupons bought it might take awhile.

Before you purchase this one, be aware that they are not honoring it until tomorrow (3/20) and they are claiming that it says so in the Groupon Ad. I cannot find it. I told them (Al Vento) that I didn’t see that claim, only the expiry date. I had gone through the trouble of making a reservation this morning as soon as I purchased the Groupon. You don’t find out you can’t use it tonight until you print it. A friend of mine had a similar message recently with Children’s Theatre tickets, but the theatre was happy to honor the Groupon anyway. I told the restaurant that if that was how they intended to be about it, I would not only cancel my reservation, but edit and cancel my groupon purchase as well and probably not come back later. Here’s the real kicker … they said, “okay, that’s fine”. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Groupon … if they told you that the groupon was not good until 3/20, that should be made clear.

Question: I bought two of these groupons, thinking I can use them for an undetermined time. However, the question has been asked on here a couple times, and I am confused: I do understand that I can use them as early as tomorrow, but I’m assuming these are good for a limited time period (maybe a month, or a year?). Ah, I just found the expiration date: 9/22/2010. That will be just fine. Katherine W., I have dined here many times, as it’s in my neighborhood, and have occassionally had some ‘iffy’ customer service here too. They could do some improving in that area, but the food and drinks here are fabulous.

Its our policy that Groupons may not be redeemed until the day after they are purchased. It is important that the restaurant be able to answer all the phone calls that they get today. We have this policy in place as a courtesy to our vendors, so that when the Groupon customers come in their full attention can be on serving you. When you try to print your voucher it will say that you can’t use it tonight. I’m sorry if that is an inconvenience, this is the policy for every Groupon. Sorry for not posting earlier, but you might want to check if happy hour drinks qualify when using this groupon…. at their other restaurant they decided that because we dined during a happy hour that the groupon was no good….kind of misleading to say the least. As others have said, their customer service could use some work. They are a restaurant offering a coupon/gift certificate. Of all the restaurants I have worked in, we never would have imagined denying a customers coupon because they happened to purchase an alcoholic beverage that was on special due to happy hour while they were eating a full meal.

Per the fine print on the feature as well as the Groupon voucher it is NOT valid on restaurant specials. Happy Hour is considered a special. Therefore, one is not able to use the Groupon during Happy Hour.

Katharine, I’m sure your oversight of wanting to use the groupon the same day you purchased it was not as big of a deal as you make it out to be. Wanting to step to the front of the line is always frowned upon. Misunderstandings happen and certainly don’t require a negative full paragraph on a well proven establishment. My guess is you didn’t cancel your groupon purchase and you will be back. Enjoy!

I just joined Groupon, it was noted that when it says “processing” to wait until you get a notice in your email than you could print the coupon. That’s what I did and it all worked just fine. At first I was a little unsure about that, but waited for it to come through, it took about an hour to process through my email.

We used our Groupon this weekend – and Al Vento was excellent. Even though the restaurant was packed, our server was friendly and knowledgable. The food was absolutely delicious, don’t miss the creme brulee trio for dessert! We can’t wait to go back. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this restaurant and how they handled an extremely busy night – even when the majority of the people who were there were paying less than half price for their dinners, the staff and food was outstanding.
