Choose from Four Options

  • $39 for a 60-minute horseback trail ride for two Sunday–Friday (an $80 value)
  • $39 for a 60-minute horseback trail ride for two Saturday (an $80 value)
  • $75 for a 60-minute horseback trail ride for four Sunday–Friday (a $160 value)

  • $75 for a 60-minute horseback trail ride for four Saturday (a $160 value)

The ride itself lasts for one hour, but participants should allow two hours total to account for horse selection and prep, a safety talk, and a brief training session. Riders then set off across woodland trails in pursuit of the Chiques Creek, tree-lined fields, and the old railroad bed. Rides depart at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.

Allimax Farm

The trainers at Allimax Farm follow the Pennsylvania Dutch horsemanship tradition, an approach that produces strong, sturdy, and well-trained horses fit for both trail rides and lessons. The Chiques Creek points the way as groups pilot their steeds over the many surrounding trails and fields while an experienced guide supervises to ensure safety and decipher any trail sign that may have been altered by prank-pulling squirrels. The farm’s lessons teach beginning to advanced riders proper technique for Working Western Trail Riding in a family-oriented environment that eschews competition in favor of confidence building and a deep appreciation for all areas of horsemanship. Topics covered might include horse temperament, nutrition, and cantering for beginners; more experienced students may further their horsemanship knowledge through instruction on reining maneuvers and the three methods of riding the trot.
