Questions and Answers
Can I buy more than one Groupon for myself?

Hi Rebecca,
This is Sarah from Groupon. Today’s offer is just one per customer. If you buy a second one, you will not be able to use it for yourself and must give it to someone else to use.
Best,
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
I want to buy this Groupon as a gift but I don’t want the recepient to know how much I bought it or that I bought it from Groupon. Is that possible?

Hi Fani,
If you buy a Groupon, it will say “Good for a 1 hour Swedish Relaxation Massage” and will not have a price on it. Unless they saw the campaign today on our site, your gift recipient will not know that you only paid $45 for it.

Does AHA massages cater to men too? Or is this only for girls?

Hi Astrid,
They absolutely cater to men as well!

Can we use this Groupon to upgrade to 90-minute massage, and if so, what would be the additional cost for extra time?
Would a prenatal massage be covered by this coupon?

Hello Sarah! I am happily surprised to see you are a Groupon staff member.

Sarah – Yes, you may upgrade to a 90 minute massage by paying the difference between the price of that and the 60 minute swedish massage directly to Alternative Health Associates when you show up for your appointment. This particular upgrade would be an additional $37. You may also upgrade to other types of massages by paying the difference. Please see the price list on the Alternative Health Associates website for full details: http://www.althealthassociates.com/PageMassages.asp
Facebook User – Yes, you may use this coupon for prenatal sweedish massage, no upcharge!
REBA! – I’m so happy to see you on the Groupon discussion board! Things just weren’t the same without you at the old office so I had to move on. ;) I’m glad you are enjoying Groupon!
If I purchase two and my friend purchase two, can we gift one to each other?

@Sarah Romer
Thank you for your prompt response. This is a great deal :D

Thanks Sarah :-D I’m still seeking a new nesting place.
Does the coupon have an expiration date?

Jeana – While I applaud your creativity, I would still consider your strategy to be breaking the rules. You might be able to get away with that, but I would advise against it.
Scott – the expiration date can be found right under The Fine Print. It is 3/30/10.

I logged in and purchased 2 groupons, with the intent of giving one as a gift. Will both process, or will it only process the one? (i.e. do I need to log in and buy another one with my friend’s email address?)

Emily – You are all good. Your purchase for two Groupon’s should go though just fine.
Just booked my appointment! I’m so excited! :)
Hi-
I bought two with the intention of using the other as a gift. However, my name appears as the recipient on both Groupons. Will this be a problem when my friend goes to use it? Or was there a place for me to select it as a gift?
Thanks.

Hi Erin,
We don’t have a way to put a gift recipients name on the Groupon yet, but each Groupon has a unique ID number on it, so when your friend goes to get the massage, the staff at Alternative Health Associates will check off the certificate by the number, and not only by your name.
Best,
Sarah
I was a little worried about calling since there have been a lot of negative comments about the company. But I just called and they were FABULOUS..very nice and courteous.
Thanks Groupon!
Great deal, totally professional and if they were just a tad closer to Silver Spring – I’d be there monthly!
I have called this establishment to book my Groupon, and they have told me they have nothing availble until a date PAST the expiration date. The young lady I spoke with said I could use the $45 “towards the purchase of a massage” and pay another $44 after the 31st. That doesn’t seem quite fair to me. If they could not accomodate the number of groupons they sold, they should have reduced the number. Now, I feel like I’m forced to either pay the full price for a massage or lose my money. Seems like a set-up to me. Please advise.
I too had the same problem. I gave one as a Valentine’s Day gift and they have been booked solid every week since then. The recipient has also been calling as well and confirms they also told him they are fully booked for weeks in advance. But what a coincidence, they have plenty of appointments after 4/1, with the post-expiration date additional charge. This is quite unfair and you can bet we’ll be staying with our current masseuse. It’s a shame as AHA is much more convenient.

Today (03/29/10), I phoned to schedule an appointment for my massage. I was told m Groupon would be honored after the 03/31/10 expiration date (because they have no available appointments before the expiratin date), which is not true. I was told I would have to pay the balance of the cost of the massage ($44), which negates the Groupon discount. The Groupon did not state that an appointment had to be made by a certain date, so the Groupon should be honored, or the price paid, refunded. What is Groupon’s policy?
I called on March 8 and was able to get a same day appointment. I’ve had the Groupon for 6 months and didn’t want to wait until the last minute to book my appointment, but my gift groupon may go to waste since the friend I gave it to hasn’t made an appointment yet. I’ve lost other Groupons due to not getting them used before the expiration date.

Probably makes a good Valentines Day gift!
