My second question is, is there any chance of getting appointments within the next two weeks? I really only need this if it can happen in the next two weeks but if 873 other people already bought Groupons I can see that may not be possible.

Lila – While in theory, you can book two separate appointments on different days and use two separate GroupOns, it is likely that – as you noted in the next question – with the number of customers we will be getting, you wouldn’t end up being able to book two back-to-back like that.

In regards to the next two weeks, there are no guarantees, but we will try to accommodate as many customers as we are able within the confines of our scheduling. Please e-mail us at info@americascleaningcompany.com and as soon as we get the list from GroupOn tomorrow, we will begin scheduling all of those jobs that have been requested as well as we are able. my building will be doing work in every apt. and i was planning on using service upon work completion . will they be able to move some furniture back after they clean? do they move furniture when cleaning? u said they can do a messy closet, will they help with organiZing (sifting thru papers, go thru clothing, magaZine filled corners that need to be removed etc)? i realiZe this will use up a 2 hour session but that’s okay as i can schedule another appointment. and of course r they judgemental? also i am handicapped would they be able to go down to laundry room and put in and remove and bring up the laundry on a visit? no waiting or folding necessary by them.

I just had this done for the first time. It was TERRIBLE! They called to ask if they could come an hour early, I said yes and came home an hour earlier than I had planned to. Then they were an hour late! Then it was two men, neither of which had any idea how to clean a house. I asked them to replace the duvet cover and my bed and re-make my bed and when I went into the bedroom, the comforter was folded on top of the bed with the old duvet cover still on it and the new duvet cover clumsily laid in the bed and the pillows in disarray! I waited until they were ready to leave to see if they were done, and that’s how they were going to leave it! I fixed it myself after telling them how to do it properly. They only stayed for one hour of the “2 hour” cleaning service I was supposed to have which is usually, for first timers, $48 an hour. So I actually paid $10 more for this service by having the Groupon! This company is terrible and the cleaners have NO IDEA what they are doing. I can’t believe it. I honestly am stunned.

The cleaners were scheduled to come last Friday night (I had scheduled this over a month in advance) and under an hour before they were supposed to come a guy called saying they were “waaay backed up” and would be “over an hour late, if at all”. Huh. He said maybe he could try and get some guys together or ask people if they would work late. What?! I’m paying for this service, I don’t want people who are exhausted and overworked or who aren’t cleaners at all! He said they would call me first thing Monday. NOPE. I called them. The guy said “ohh yeah, we listened to your voicemail, I’ll call you back in two minutes.” No apology or anything that sounded like one. Actually, he was a little RUDE. And guess what?! He didn’t call back! it’s now almost SEVEN HOURS after that phone call, and I have called TWENTY (count em, TWENTY) times today. Now I don’t even get the answering service. My apartment is packed up and rearranged ready for a serious clean. I have never had a cleaning service before and was excited that Groupon made that possible. But if this is what America’s Cleaning Company’s customer service is like, I shudder to think what their actual cleaning service is like. I beg them to CHANGE MY MIND.

I scheduled my appointment for a weekday morning a month in advance and they called 2 days before to reschedule as they were short a crew. They came 2 days later in the evening (only time available in the same week) and called that they were going to be 15 minutes late. The fact that they called was god – all the rescheduling was a pain. Luckily I was able to be there. The team that came was very good – did a fine job on my son’s studio – they left 40 minutes early but had done absolutely everything. Obviously 2 hours was too much for a small apartment.

An hour before, someone called to say that the supervisor had to go to the hospital and they couldn’t get in touch with the 2 people that were supposed to come clean my apartment. I had a good experience with my appointment… and I am a little picky when it comes to cleaners… I’m the person with the white glove after the cleaner leaves! They did call and say they would be a little late and they were about 20 minutes late, but that was OK. I was glad they called. They did a good job. They cleaned several things my regular cleaner didn’t such as the top of some very tall furniture, and didn’t clean some other more obvious things such as there was a lot of dust on the kitchen counters (presumably they dusted the tops of the cabinets after wiping the counter down). They didn’t clean the shelves on the inside of my fridge that I asked them to, but they did dust the frames on my artwork which most cleaners must be told to do. They booker on the phone was polite and scheduled me right away (I called the day after the groupon ended). They were very accommodating in my opinion. I bought 2 and have not yet used the second one, but I look forward to it as I really think they did a good job. I was glad to have and use this groupon and would likely buy again.

Our apologies for the lack of response on our end. When the Groupon purchasers first began calling we were able to handle the volume of calls. But a few weeks ago we began to experience problems with our phone and internet servers (the two are connected), leaving us without phones and emails for days at a time. This created a huge backlog of calls and emails that we’re still catching up on. Additionally, our office was closed three days last week due to the holidays, backing us up even further.

Rest assured that we are working tirelessly on fixing the phone and email issue (we are looking into other carriers to avoid having these issues in the future), and we will get back to everyone who has called us or emailed us as soon as possible, probably within the next few days. Aug 31, 10 minutes AFTER they were supposed to show up (and after I rushed to get everything ready) they called to say the supervisor was rushed to the hospital. Poor person, but is there only one supervisor at this company? Today I have the other appointment at 7:00. I’ve been emailing and calling for days now to confirm, and nothing. Fine that your phone and email server is down, but you can use the internet in other places. All I want to know is that you’ll appear.

The same thing happened in August and I’ve yet to be able to set an appointment. I wanted an appointment for Tuesday, September 21st. So, last night there was horrible traffic due to the storm, (I thought they mentioned they don’t do other bouroughs because they’re located in Manhattan?) and they didn’t show. Carlos promised to have someone (not 2 person crew, as paid for, but it was all he could do) here this morning at 9:30, who would work 4 hours to make up for the missing other person. I asked for the supervisor’s telephone number from this morning, and Carlos said not to worry, that the person would show. It’s 9:50, and no one is here. This is the second time I’ve not even seen a cleaning person on the appointment day. I’m done. I’’m getting my money back and will clean my apartment myself from now on. Thanks for the lesson Americas Cleaning Company. Shame on you Groupon. You should have researched them better before signing a contract.

I, too, have had no luck getting a response via phone or email since July! Now the phone is non-working number (as you mentioned Theresa C.) I recently heard a business show on the radio that mentioned that many businesses using Groupon were becoming overwhelmed and unable to accommodate the rush of customers. I also see a post from Ben that they are having back log issues. I would be OK with waiting for my service, even set an appointment for late this year, if someone would at least pay me the respect to contact me. Furthermore, if this lack of crew and back log is an issue, Ben, perhaps your company will consider extending the expiration dates for purchased service. I don’t know about anyone else but that would help ease my stress about all this. Of course, I am not interested in losing money on the deal. I really do hope it all works out. I have made other Groupon purchases with no issues.

I have an appointment today and I did not receive a confirmation phone call from the company. Every # I try phoning them at says that the # is not available. Is this company still in business??!!! I bought 3 groupons. On the day of the first appointment, they didn’t show saying that they had a flat tire (I waited at home for hours). They came the next day. I had a similar problem as many above…I spoke to Benjamin about scheduling my 3 appointments…my first appointment was on the 12th and they had asked if they could come 2 hours earlier I was unfortunately unable to accommodate that and RUSHED home to be there before my scheduled appointment at 11:30 and NO ONE showed up. I didn’t get a phone call and no response via email or phone since then…I will be requesting a refund.

I want my money back for the 2 groupons I haven’t used. Cleaning crew came in August – the work was just ok (didn’t dust sofa or bookshelves, crumbs on counters) but…well…how do I put this – used the bathroom and didn’t flush on way out!?!?!? I was very nice about it, tried to schedule another appt (no follow up calls, no return when I tried to reschedule). At this point, with no response for 2 months, no follow up and the image of my apt after they left – I don’t want these people back and deserve my 2 unused groupons reimbursed

The company appears to be out of business, the webpage has gone away, phone is disconnected and emails have gone unanswered.
