The schedule of 75-minute classes includes morning sessions to wake up the body and open-level courses where new yogis and seasoned veterans stretch through asanas alongside each other. For traditional yoga, the studio holds sessions in the intense Hatha and flowing Vinyasa styles. Ashtanga yoga classes are taught by Christopher Hildebrandt—who was trained by K. Pattabhi Jois, the guru of Ashtanga yoga—and incorporate six flowing sequences that focus on pose, breath, and gaze.

About Anthea Yoga & Healing Arts Center
In Greek mythology, Anthea was a nickname that poets and playwrights used to describe goddesses of healing, and Anthea Yoga & Healing Arts Center aims to live up to that moniker. Within the studio's exposed brick walls, students practice yoga or meditate on earth-green mats as candlelight pirouettes on the windowsills. Down the hall, massage therapists extract tension to reduce excess cortisol—a hormone associated with stress that causes high blood pressure and other maladies. Additionally, founder and center director Sylvia Mouzourou, a certified psychologist, combines her education with energy healing skills to both calm and treat clients. The center also holds regular healing arts events and creative expression classes that help students get in touch with and articulate their emotions and break away from relying on finger puppet dramatization to solve arguments.
