The foot holds more nerve endings than any other part of the body, which is why stubbing your toe is the worst way to die. Watch your step with this Groupon.

Choose From Three Options

  • $19 for a pair of prefabricated, medical-grade ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) orthotic arch supports (a $50 value)
  • $169 for a foot-and-ankle evaluation and a custom-made pair of plastic functional orthotic arch supports (a $450 value)
  • $20 for $40 toward orthotics and other foot products

The prefabricated orthotics are made with a soft EVA material that provides basic arch support. For th2e custom-made orthotics, technicians perform a 15- to 20-minute evaluation of the feet and ankles. They analyze the patient's gait and discuss issues such as hammertoes and hip, back, or knee pain. Staffers then use that information and a cast of the client's feet to create a pair of thin, plastic functional orthotic arch supports that typically last 3–5 years. These orthotics include complimentary adjustments at six-month intervals. The store showcases a variety of foot-care supplies, including diabetic socks ($12–$15), lightweight NothinZ shoes ($35), and other shoes ($60+).

Arch Fitters

The certified pedorthists at Arch Fitters use state-of-the-art technology to provide healthcare professionals, retail facilities, and individual patients with a variety of pain-relieving orthotics. They craft each custom-made pair by employing products such as advanced pressure-mapping software, malleable foam, and digital foot scans. Their raster-vector 3-D software captures 900 control points on the foot, measuring the effects of body weight and providing the outline for the frame of the orthotic. Senior orthotic designers then use SolidWorks software to edit the orthotic to each patient's specifications, adding custom options such as metatarsal pads to relieve pressure on the ball of the foot, heel wedges that improve spinal alignment, and rear oil-slick sprayers to elude the Fratellis. Finally, computerized machines carve out the wooden molds and cut the orthotics themselves from polypropylene plastic, carbon-fiber graphite, or ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA).

The Groupon Guide to: Driving a Car

Driving a car has become so easy, even some really smart 12-year-olds have been able to pass the test to get their license. If you are considering getting behind the wheel, here's what you will need to know:

  • Use your key to turn on the car. You'll know you've done it right when you hear the engine start to hum and the AC vents start to choke and sob.

  • Turn on the radio and find tunes that reflect your driving style. Play rock music if you like to drive fast and anything else if you like to drive like someone who will never win in life.

  • Be sure to buckle up: it lessens your risk of being snatched out of your car by a person or a big, wet-mouthed dog.

  • Sit with the engine running for a little while and go through your driving route in your mind. Practice what kind of turns you might use to avoid hitting a group of sick birds—or worse, healthy birds—lying in the middle of the street.

  • Now all that's left to do is put the put the car in drive. In order to do that, you'll have to press down on both the accelerator and the brake at the same time while wiggling the gearshift into a hidden chamber underneath the passenger seat. Once the gearshift's in place, use the power of your positive thoughts to propel the car forward, taking care not to hit anything or become distracted by how powerful you feel to be controlling such an amazing machine.

Are sick birds causing major traffic jams?
