$799 for a Two-Night Stay for Two with a Murder Mystery Package and Most Meals (Up to $1,600 Value)

Before arriving at the scene of the crime, you’ll take a personality quiz, which scriptwriters consult to create characters that comprise the cast. Upon checking in and assuming your theatrical identity, you will begin collecting clues to solve storylines, which range from a wedding riddled with disasters to an annual art dealers' meeting marred by death. The murder-mystery package also includes several meals, such as dessert and cocktails on Friday, daily breakfast, and a four-course inquisition dinner at the inn on Saturday night.

Architect’s Inn

The 23-room Architect’s Inn was constructed in 1873 as the private residence of Newport architect George Champlin Mason. Today, bed and breakfast is well known for its interactive murder-mystery events, during which guests dress up in costume and participate in two-day whodunits.

The five guest rooms feature private fireplaces and period furnishings, including four-poster canopy beds, embroidered linens, and floral wallpaper. A few rooms, such as the Redwood room and the Perry suite, even have Victorian claw-foot tubs. Modern touches include cable TV and DVD players, in addition to WiFi access.

Less than half a mile west of Architect's Inn is a collection of historical mansions commissioned at the turn of the 20th century for affluent American families, including the Vanderbilts. Explore the 80 acres of gardens and parks on guided tours that illuminate the pioneering architecture, interior design, and social history of 11 landmark properties.

Groupon Says

The Groupon Guide to: Too Good to Be True

There's an old saying: if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Look out for any of these impossible dreams; they might turn into all-too-possible nightmares:

A real-estate agent arrives on your doorstep with a "once-in-a-lifetime investment."
Nice try! This two-bit huckster wants you to spend your retirement fund on 6 acres of stink-swamp so he can move into your much nicer current house and pet your dog all day.

An old man with a beard says you are the newest applicant to a "prestigious wizard academy."
Steer clear! This old nut clearly wants money—or worse: for you to spend your precious time conversing with a lonely elderly person.

A beautiful, compassionate soul tells you they want to spend "the rest of our lives together."
Don't do it! If this person could see the secret darkness that you know is gestating inside you, they would turn to ashes at your touch. Say something hateful in return, in order to set them free.

How can you tell if someone is trying to trick you?
