Is the Groupon valid on anything in the store, including sale items? There is no minimum purchase amount except the $300 value of the Groupon itself, correct? Thanks.

This is a great deal, but I ask the same question as Nazanin E. Does the Groupon apply to any item in the store? Not just a bunch of dated pink tiles or damage items. Thanks!

Are there any price lists available online? I am interested in buying the Groupon towards the purchase of glass tiles (4" or subway tiles) for a kitchen backsplash. The Harmony Glass line looks promising. But I'd like to get an idea how the tiles are priced - such as price per tile and also if they can only be purchased in boxes or "units." About 18 months ago I had looked at tiles and designed a backsplash after consulting twice with a salesman at another tile store. and I was ready to buy my tiles and supplies. Then I learned that because of the number of tiles required for the project, I would have to buy 2 full "units" of each color even though I would only use about 1 1/5 units of each - no option to buy single tiles or return unused ones for refund. That drove the project price way up.

I used their tiles when I did my bathroom and I LOVE their selection. They are a little expensive (compared to places like Home Depot and Lowes) but their selection is unique and exquisite. I wish I needed tile for anything, because I would scoop this up! And I saved the extra tile in case some broke or I would have to replace something.

Help, Groupon! Noone is answering the questions. I wanted a general indiation of price for a backsplash as well since there are no prices on the website. I understand that it will depend on the number and type of tiles. However, if I have a small kitchen wall I want to do - say 8'L x 2'H - could the $300 get me there, ~ 1/2-way there, or am I not even in the ballpark?

To everyone: Thank you so much for the comments. We are excited that you all have an interest in our products and services. @ Nazanin & Monica - We represent over 75 different tile vendors and directly import 20 different stock lines from around the world. The groupon is valid on everything except for items that have offers, promotions, sales, or discounts assocaited with them. These special items make-up less than 5% of what we display in our showrooms. So, please know that the coupon applies to the bulk of what we offer. @ Mara - We do not publish pricing online, but we would love to send you some specific pricing via email or over the phone. Please feel free to contact the closest location to you for phone pricing or you can send an email to Lisa@architecturalceramics.net and she can field your request. We carry more than 10 different glass companys and each one has their own requirements in regards to ordering amounts. Our private label Harmony line requires you to order by the square foot which tends to not trap you in to buying too many. It is also returnable by the square foot with in 30 days of your purchase if you have some left over. @ Sonya - Thank you for your great feedback. We look forward to helping you with any future projects! @ Megan - You mentioned that you need tile for aproximately 8 feet by 2 feet of space. That equates to 16 square feet. The $300 groupon would cover 16 square feet of material at a cost of $18 per square foot or less. Our materials start around $5 per square foot and can go over $30 a square foot depending on the complexity of the material. So, we can certainly accomdate many different budgets. It really just depends on how intricate of a design and what type of material you need. I hope that my above comments are helpful and please don't hesitate to contact us by phone or email for more information. Thank you!

I called one of the stores to see if somebody could respond here, but my battery died before I could finish the convo. According to the person I spoke to, the only difference in the info posted above was that while both Basic Packages and discontinued items would NOT be included, sale items on non-discontinued items would be included. This made sense since sale items change regularly, the profit margin on Basic packages is likely too low to be cost effective, and obviously, it may be difficult or impossible to finish or fill even a small order with a discontinued line. I would like clarification on the inclusion of the in-stock sale items that are not on clearance/discontinued, please. I don't want to plan one of our 4 projects with my heart set on a particular in stock won't be discontinued any time soon tile only to find out that tile went on sale the day before. Wish I had more time to spend on this today, can only hope to be able to check in again before you close today. Thanks for your help :)

Thanks, David! That helps. Being an avid Groupon subscriber, I tend to have beer money and champagne taste but it sounds like you can accomodate if I can go toward the middle. (Got my Groupon: whoop-whoop!)

@ Kerry - The coupon is good for all of our stock and special order items. It is not valid for items that have been discontinued from our stock and are therefore marked down for final sale. We also have basic bathroom packages where we have bundled a group of stock items together to sell at a reduced package price. These packages are already discounted and therefore can not be purchased with a coupon. Otherwise, we do not have "sales" as a company and so there are no items that would fluxuate in price or validity. If we have a stock item that gets discontinued down the road, the coupon would not be valid, but we have many other stock lines available at similar prices and looks. We tend to discontinue material twice a year and we just did our first round this year, so we have no intention of changing things at this time. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks

How is 1 per household determined? My and my friend both live together, but we are both interested in purchasing this groupon. My friend is moving out in June. Both of our credit cards are however linked to the same address, and we both would want to purchase the tile prior to June. Thanks!

Hi Katie! Thanks so much for your interest in Architectural Ceramics. Limit of 1 per household means that you can only redeem one Groupon per residence. If you have any further questions about the fine print of the feature please feel free to contact our customer service department either by phone (877) 788-7858 or through email support@groupon.com. Happy Thursday, Michael

Can I use part of the Groupon for shipping or is all $300 only for tiles?

DeepBlueSea

I bought one for my house but can't complete the purchase of a gift Groupon for my sister who has her own house. What can I do?

DeepBlueSea answered 2 years, 6 months, 27 days, 11 hours, and 3 minutes ago

Hi Corey P. The shipping is not including in the $300. It is only $300 off tile, glass or stone. Hi Deep Blue Sea, Your sister needs to complete her own purchase because each individual can only purchase one. So I would suggest having her buy one for her house. Thanks, David

Hi Mara H. I would encourage you to visit the showroom and discover all the glass tiles available. They typically run $25 - $50 /sf. Please visit the closest showroom to your home. Thanks, David

Thanks David! Was able to stop by a showroom today, but didn't get home until nearly midnight. Too tired to make it upstairs at the time, realized I'd long missed the deal, or so I thought, when I woke up a short time ago. Was very happily surprised and quite shocked to see to see there were still deals left to purchase. Got mine and tweeted for those who also didn't know it hadn't hit max(!) or had mised it. Wonder if the large quantity of deals being offered daily makes people overwhelmed or even apathetic...oh look, another day, another deal. I actually get sad when the truly great deals don't sell out well before expiration time the first day. Makes me long for the old days, what, 8 to 10 months ago? when there were just 1-3 fab deals for the whole area.

Kelly, Thanks for your enthusiasm! It was amazing that we sold over 300 in one day, I was certainly very surprised. So we extended it to 500. I hope that many people can enjoy a little of our exquisite tile. I assume there are going to be many more people doing this since it has been quite a success. Thanks for your support. -David

You should extend it to 1000! I want to buy too... :-(

john f. answered 2 years, 6 months, 27 days, 11 hours, and 3 minutes ago

Yes, I second John f's comment - would you consider extending it. I called the Chevy Chase store yesterday with a question about tile applications and he encouraged me to stop in to the store. Since my wife is available today we are going to stop in this afternoon - but now I see that they're sold out. we were really excited about this since we had recently bought tile from you for our kitchen remodel and were pleased with the selection/quality.

Hi John and Mark, We appreciate your business and your excitement of this oppurtunity. Obviously, we have to consider our costs and such when extending this to such a broad customer base. Please note this was an experiment and we'll see if it is possible to do again. Thanks again for your support and previous business. -David

Horrible job by Groupon. First, it took them about 8 hours to have anyone respond to the questions. Then, they failed to list that there was a limited quantity available on this deal. Take after your little brother (soon to be big brother) at LivingSocial and list when certain offers have a limited availability. Worse, one of the merchant's representatives was suggesting people to visit the showroom before deciding on getting this. Unfortunately, there wasn't much time to do that before this sold out.

Ryan K. answered 2 years, 6 months, 27 days, 11 hours, and 3 minutes ago

so bummed this sold out! saw 2+ days left and thought we had plenty of time :( Next time, if it's such a limited amount, please only do it for one day so there's a bit more urgency. moved into a house last year and have a ton of work to do...thought we'd found something to push us to get started! hope you decide to extend!

Not a horrible job by Groupon, Ryan. Obviously, this was a very successful offer. It's rare for questions to be answered by merchants outside of regular work hours or during the middle of the night (which is what they would have had to have done to respond promptly to the first several questions). As it is, the time at which they responded (before noon) was certainly reasonable, especially for a deal that was expected to last several days. (I love Living Social, too, but there is no opportunity with them to ask ANY questions about the deals, much less have them answered...) The merchant's suggestion to visit the showroom was in response to a specific inquiry; he did not suggest that everyone check out the showroom before buying the Groupon. Of course it is disappointing when one misses out on a deal that they would have liked to have purchased. I've missed out before, too, and it's frustrating. But, there is no guarantee that we will be able to buy every Groupon we would like to buy, especially those where a limited quantity is available (and, I do notice those marked as being limited). The best strategy if you see something that you want is to buy it quickly when you have the opportunity (the early bird gets the worm, he who hesitates is lost, and all that jazz...).

These incidents have provided a urther reminder why I'd love for all deal sites to have a classifieds category for valid deals people have determined they won't be able to use. I wouldn't mind if the deal site charged a small percentage to maintain said list. The security of having a valid Groupon, coupon, or deal GIFTED from a legit seller to a legit purchaser via the site that sold the deal in the 1st place would be worth it to me. David A, should you find yourselves buried in damaged items or bits and pieces and shards of any sort, my fellow mosaic artists are always on the lookout for unique pieces and would be interested in offering a different type of deal, please consider selling what might otherwise be unusable scraps to you by the pound(s) to us :)

Kerry H. answered 2 years, 6 months, 27 days, 11 hours, and 3 minutes ago

Ryan K.

It was a horrible job, Andrea. Groupon's focus is to satisfy both the merchant and the customer. By not having a fixed limited number, as LivingSocial does, one cannot judge if they should take the recommendation to visit the showroom (as suggested for people with similar questions) or take the risk and buy the Groupon. If doing the former, they missed out on the deal. Groupon may sometimes state if the deal is limited, but they didn't with this one.
