At Modern Family Dentistry, Dr. Stacey Layman and her staff expertly use Lumineers to transform their clients' smiles. "A Lumineer is just a very, very thin shell of porcelain—almost like a contact lens or a fake fingernail—that we put directly over your tooth structure," Dr. Layman explains in a video on her website. Unlike veneers, which require removal of enamel—often leading to lifelong sensitivity—Lumineers bond directly to the outer surface, so they strengthen rather than harm existing teeth. At the first appointment, the staff conducts x-rays and an exam, and may also take tooth molds at this time, if possible. The PCH Lumineers are then shaped and formed, and after the lab's carefully crafted Lumineers receive approval from the Tooth Fairy, you may receive your Lumineers that day. Others may need to schedule a follow-up appointment for placement.
Alternatively, the staff can take impressions for custom full sets of Snap-On Smiles, which conceal missing or broken teeth less permanently. Clients return for a second visit to pick up their new grin and make sure it fits correctly. The Snap-On Smile snaps over existing teeth, and although it doesn't address underlying problems, it makes for a more winsome smile in the meantime. Wearers can take the set on and off at will.
Modern Family Dentistry
When you trust someone with your smile, you want to be sure they know what they're doing. Modern Family Dentistry's Dr. Stacey Layman not only has years of dental experience, she also teaches other dentists how it's done. As a national educator for DenMat, she teaches professionals how to affix broken or damaged teeth with Lumineers, which prevent the sensitivity often caused by veneers. Dr. Layman is also the Seattle Mariners' team dentist, and she regularly offers dental wisdom on ABC 15's Sonoran Living Live and 3TV's Your Life A to Z.
She and her partner, Dr. Elizabeth Wallmann (aka Dr. Liz), along with their team, offer other aesthetic services, such as smile-straightening Invisalign, in addition to cleanings and general dentistry. To help guests feel more serene than a manatee getting a massage, the staff has filled the waiting room with soothing earth tones and plush sofas. They also help clients relax with NuCalm technology, which eschews chemical sedatives for microcurrent stimulation, natural supplements, and other methods that leave clients impairment-free.
