Art Knapp Plantland
Every so often, a pint-sized train chugs past, wending its way through lush foliage and myriad attractions. This type of whimsical ride is typical of an amusement park, but the surrounding greenery suggests a different locale. The train is driving through a one-stop shop and tourist destination known as Art Knapp Plantland, a 5-acre nursery, garden-supply store, kid-friendly playland, model-train oasis, and much more.
Art Knapp Plantland's inventory runs the gamut of plant supplies, from actual plants—such as flowers, trees, and the exotic pink blueberry featured in the video tour—to the fertilizers and landscaping equipment integral to kempt yards and vigilante park maintenance. While touring the grounds, patrons can also find an eclectic array of non-gardening items, from jewellery and golf shoes to hot-tub equipment.
The smorgasbord shopping center also hosts family friendly activities including a train ride, a mini-golf course, and a model-train exhibit.

“It was a sunny day but cold (bundle up and wear gloves in the colder weather). it would be great if there were Art Knapp staff around to ensure that people were following the rules (here were a group of kids that were unsafe, didn't follow the rules and were inconsiderate of others). Staff at Art Knapp were all lovely and the space is welcoming. Once we entered, we noticed that they had a sample of a dip (they sell the dip mix) and pretzels (we ended up buying three packages), and they had a beautiful and wide range of xmas ornaments. They also sell trains, cars, women's clothing, crocs (the largest selection i have ever seen) and kitchen sauces. Once we came back inside from playing mini golf, they had just brought out hot apple cider and it was very welcome (given how cold it was). We ended up going back outside to go on the train (2.50 per person). It was just super cold but it was a nice little train ride. Again, staff were all wonderful and the space is welcoming. We are planning on going back. ”
