Although honeybees instinctually communicate through dance, humans who attempt to do so without proper training risk insulting the queen or eating the wrong flowers. Hone buzz-worthy abilities with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $60 for two private tango lessons for one or two (up to a $180 value)
  • $35 for six group tango lessons for one (a $135 value)

During group tango classes, which take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., instructors teach the fundamentals of the South American dance, allowing students to put their new moves to the test during a 30-minute follow-up practice session that goes until 9 p.m. Customers should call ahead to schedule private lessons.

Art, Wine & Tango

In studios across the world, painters toil, pouring their souls into the canvas. Within nearby ballrooms, dancers tango in time with the music with well-placed steps. For Mykol and Susan, these two seemingly disparate art forms draw from the same emotional well. At Art, Wine & Tango, they share their expertise within the twin disciplines of tango and painting.

Trained in dance in Buenos Ares, Susan has also studied art at Glassell School of Art and the Art League. A commercial builder, Mykol, used his eye for shapes and structures to build a beautiful building where their classes for tango, dance, and ongoing art take place within two studios. Together, they teach couples the intricate interplay between leader and follower while also demonstrating the importance of non-verbal communication within the dance.

In addition to dance classes, the studio's instructors also help students unshackle inner creative spirits through BYOB art lessons. While aspiring artists sip on wine or beer and relax, an art teacher demonstrates how to recreate colorful acrylic painting in easily replicable steps. As the last stroke dries on the venue-provided canvases, the instructors discard smocks and don dancing shoes, switching the lessons from laid-back painting to elegant Argentine Tango. After an evening of dance, attendees head home wiser, more nimble, and with a frame-ready painting to decorate their homes.

The Groupon Guide to: Still-Life Painting

Still-life paintings are the easiest kind to do because everything you’re painting is already dead, thus holding still. Try out these subjects for your next still life:

  • A skull being used as a vase
  • A bunch of mangoes in a bowl but one of them is purple
  • Two teakettles. They don’t have faces, but do they somehow seem to be … talking to each other?
  • Onions
  • The bust of an ancient emperor sitting on a little girl’s nightstand
  • A wooden table strewn with a bunch of dead quail
  • A harpsichord gathering dust in a corner while a shiny electric guitar sits, well cared for, in a stand
  • A man’s hat, pipe, and book all sit on his chair, which has the imprint of his body, but there is no sign of the man.
  • A bunch of absurdly wet fruit

What can you do with a bunch of absurdly wet fruit?
