The surgeon conducts tumescent liposuction, a one- to two-hour outpatient procedure that typically results in less bruising than traditional liposuction. After a consultation to determine treatment goals, the surgeon injects a local anesthesia into the targeted area. Then, they insert a small tube called a cannula into a small incision and suction out the fat. If the client has also purchased the fat transfer, the surgeon uses some of the removed fat to shape and add volume to the face or buttocks.
