CrossPit Extreme Austin

Fitness instructor Jeff Hughes first cinched up his black belt more than 15 years ago when he became an Austin-area kung fu instructor. Since then, he's incorporated a number of new moves into his fighting repertoire to create CrossPit, a multidisciplinary program that blends CrossFit fitness training with the no-holds-barred approach of mixed martial arts. He bases his program on the idea that the only things a fighter really needs to be successful are a solid stance, swift movement, stamina, and a few key strikes. With this guiding principle, he created a simple but effective fitness regimen that works for anyone from new moms looking to lose weight to experienced fighters hoping for victory at the next after-hours cage match on the Senate floor. He staffs his studio with handpicked instructors who enjoy the same rigorous training he does, and together, they lead classes in MMA, sports performance training, and kickboxing for men and women. Their kickboxing classes in particular garner a lot of popularity, attracting as many as 45 students per session.
