Hi Cheryl! Everyone is allowed to use up to 2 Groupons at Balani, and they can both be redeemed on a single purchase. However, you’re welcome (and encouraged!) to purchase additional as gifts.
And in regards to ladies clothing, unfortunately that is not a service we offer. We appreciate the interest though!

What is the care instructions on the shirts, and do they come with spare buttons?

Catt, I don’t really know how to respond to the first part of your question except thanks, i think…but as to care I can certainly answer that:
Our fabrics are preshrunk so you can certainly take care of them at home. Machine wash cold and hang dry. And yes, you should probably get the iron out…
If you send them out, just ask for no starch – it tends to break down the fibers and shrink collars and cuffs.
And we do include extra buttons on all of our shirts…

I just purchased 2 as a gift (to one person – assume he can redeem both at once as indicated above). I just purchased as I usually do with Groupon, though, so I guess my name might appear on the groupon. Does that matter? Or will you honor the groupons from whoever walks in with them?
i.e., Bob walks in with 2 groupons from Sally?
Anna – spot on.
He can use both for one purchase, and although it will say Sally on the Groupon, Bob can use them.
And we’ll also probably comment on how sweet it was of Sally to get Bob those Groupons
Hi. Thanks for placing the offer on groupon. So, in theory can I use 4 groupons toward the purchase of a suit? Two groupons that I would buy, and my wife buys the other two.
Jake, I realize that shirt price is correlated to the quality and style that I choose. Your shirts start at $95, but I am sure I will want some upgrades on the basic shirt. Can you give me a rough idea of how your pricing system works? i.e. an idea of how many “upgraded” shirts I can purchase with $225 (1, 1.5, 2)?

Unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to honor that offer. Perhaps wording it in this manner may help clear up any confusion:
“There is a 2 Groupon maximum per Client – A client can redeem up to 2 Groupons over the course of the year”
I’m new here, and I’m not sure how groupons work. We’re all supposed to pay by credit cards, right? Do we get charged immediately? But if there are not enough people buying the deal, do we automatically get the refunds? How soon do we get the refunds?

You’re exactly right that our pricing is based on the quality of fabric you choose. However, it has nothing to do with the style. So if you wanted french cuffs, a fly front, and white collar white cuffs, you’d pay the same amount as you would for a plain jane shirt.
So to answer your question: you could get 1 or 2 (or 2.36 shirts if you chose the $95 range – we can discuss what sleeve you’d want made). If you have more questions on the fabrics, feel free to give me a call.

This question is more suited for the Groupon Guys…but I’ll tell you what I know:
Because today’s deal tipped at 50, there will be no need to refund your credit card. And I believe that your credit card will be charged early tomorrow morning and you will receive your Groupon electronically via email.

I love that you love the deal!
The first order always takes the longest – around 5 weeks. This is because our tailor has to create an individual pattern based off of your fiance’s measurements. After that, we can generally shave a little time off.
However, we’d be happy to send you your order if your not in town. But I can hardly imagine why you’d want to leave Chicago for the winter…

How altruistic of you! If I understand you correctly, you’d want to bring a friend along and both pick out your fabrics and be fitted at the same time? That’d be fine by us – the more the merrier! Just make sure to let us know when you call to schedule the appointment.

We always schedule an hour and a half for the first appointment – we just want to make sure you don’t feel rushed. With that said, I’d say most people are in and out within an hour. But if you’re especially decisive we can probably shave a little time off that…
Otherwise, you’re welcome to stop and smell the roses (figuratively though…we don’t have roses)

For the time being we only make men’s tailored clothing: Suits, sport coats, slacks, shirts, and coats. However, we do carry ties, solid pocket squares, and cuff links in our showroom that make great stocking stuffers!
And sorry, we don’t carry stockings…
You mentioned that the price depends on the quality of the material and not the style and that your suits start at $795…what is the quality of the material for this price level suit?…what price levels does it go up to?…how would it compare to the brands/materials sold at Nordstrom (where I typically buy)?…sorry, so many questions!
Piggy backing off of Rachel’s comment, can we use the groupon for non-custom clothing? For example, I have family out of state so could I come in a buy a tie, pocket square, or cuff links with my groupon?
Our entry line suiting fabrics are an all natural, 100% worsted wool (translation: NO SYNTHETICS!) – meaning they’re durable, breath well, and will last! However, as you increase in fabric quality, you tend to get higher thread counts and different blends (ie 5% cashmere) – this leads to a better “hand” or feel to the garment.
The best analogy I can come up with is that of cooking ingredients: dried basil will get the job done for a recipe, but having fresh leaves makes a world of difference when in comes to flavor. I think the same is true for the quality of wool (I’m not suggesting you should taste our fabrics…)
In regards to what Nordstroms sells, it’s not really fair for me to comment on that. You’re more than welcome to call and I can explain in further detail…
