$315 for a Hot-Air-Balloon Flight with a Traditional Toast for Two ($550 Value)

Pilots guide hot air balloons to altitudes of up to 3,000 feet during 45-minute flights, on which passengers glimpse wildlife, skim treetops, and take-in panoramic views of South Kansas City. Friends and family are welcome to follow a chase crew as they trail below the balloon en route to the landing site, where a traditional first flight ceremony will take place. As they fly, duos share their basket with at least two other passengers. Open to all ages, flights are recommended for ages 12 and older, and a parent must accompany children 12 and younger. For more information, see the FAQ page.

Balloon AD-Ventures

Balloon AD-Ventures' pilots deftly guide their balloon baskets low enough for passengers to pluck leaves from the trees. Alternatively, they can ride the wind to altitudes of up to 3,000 feet, which showcase views of the downtown skyline and wildlife. Since 1985, the company has flown groups over South Kansas City and across the US on aerial balloon adventures.

The Groupon Guide to: Tricking Your Kids into Eating Vegetables

Kids don't want to eat vegetables because vegetables aren't fun. Make legumes laughably fun with these tips for preparing vegetables:

  • Put black beans on circular slices of potato to give your kids healthier "chocolate-chip cookies."

  • Cut corn off the cob and offer their picky palates some "rotten goblin teeth."

  • Mash yams and your young ones will be thrilled to eat "a very sick man's innards."

  • An avocado kind of looks like a hand grenade.

  • Remove the strings from celery. Kids will voluntarily eat celery if it's not strung like some kind of ridiculous violin.

Mom, can I have seconds of goblin teeth?
