Does anyone know if these classes are participatory or if they are strictly demonstration?

ronnie m.

It appears if none of the basikneads links are working on the groupn page.

Cornell C.

They are participatory, they are set up in groups of 12 to 15 people.

ronnie m.

Is the $45 for one class on one night?

Dennis S.

Thanks Cornell.

Raegan D.

I googled the basikneads site. The links appear to be working on the basikneads home page.

Laura W.

My order says still processing (and has for a while), and I see a lot of people have bought this deal. Does that mean it might be full and I may not get it?

Jen .

Morning Groupies,

I just tried out the links and they seem to be working for me, but please keep me updated if anyone needs anything.

Laura- It could take up to a couple hours for your order to be processed. :)

Will I get instructions on how to sign up for a specific class?

Crystal T.

It says limit per 1 person, but may buy as a gift. Does that mean I can buy more than one?

Kristin S.

I think I just bought two as a gift, but I haven’t received any emails yet….

Kristin S.

Still no confirmation of purchase. Why is it taking so long?

Jen .

Hello!

Kristen T.- Your Groupon voucher will have Basikneads’ phone number and instructions how to reserve a spot in a class (basically just call and check availability).

Crystal- You may use ONE for yourself and buy multiples as gifts.

Kristin S.- You can email support@groupon.com and they will be able to give you the status of your purchase.

I filled out for 2 X $45 =90 without using the gift option, I was hoping to just have it under my name and bring a +1 to the class. Will the purchase go through or should I change the order to 1 for myself and add +1 for a gift?

Jen .

Hello Michael,

The way you did it will work just fine. Enjoy!!! :)

-Jen @ Groupon

So is this a +1 deal, ie. Its a couples thing, $45 for two people?

Jen .

Hello Kristen,

No. Each individual needs to purchase a Groupon.

there seems to be only 8 a la carte class sessions listed on the site with dates that havent passed already… with 15 or so people per class, and over 500 groupons already sold, im wondering if it will even be possible to get into a class. i know that the groupon is good for a year, but even so it seems like a lot of people might not get what they want. will basikneads be working with the groupon people to offer more of the most popular choices in the future? yes this is a great deal and i would be happy with just about any class, but $90 is a lot to drop for a single date (groupon or not!) if its not going to work out. thanks!

Cornell C.

We are working on adding classes through the end of the year – concentrating on the most popular classes and adding a couple vegetarian classes. I understand the concern about time running out without being able to get in a class, but please be assured that we will honor all Groupons purchased if you have been unable to get in a class you want.

christopher j.

cornell, thanks much for getting back so quickly, and with good news even!

Katherine P.

I originally purchased two. I thought I screwed up since one was a gift, so I edited it to change to one. Now, “my groupons” says I have 2 and 1. I want to make sure I have two, but I really don’t need 3 or 4. How can I tell how many I really have?

Jen .

Hello Katherine P.,

Your Groupons will have a number, example 12345-1. If you purchase multiples you will have 12345-2, 12345-3… With the last number being how many you have purchased TOTAL.

If I purchased 3 total my Groupon numbers would be 12345-1, 12345-2 and 12345-3.

I hope that clarifies it for you! :)

Katherine P.

It does, thank you!

My Groupon required that I not call to schedule my class until today. Despite being concerned that all of the good classes would be gone, I still waited. Now, I called this morning, but no one answered the phone. I left a voicemail and have not heard back. Is this customary?

Last night’s seafood 101 class was most enjoyable. Cornell is a delightful person and engaging host. We prepped individual desserts first for baking. After they went into the oven, we all watched while Cornell prepared dinner and explained how and why certain procedures were best. He also provided hints that included oil mix ratios (and reasons for them), salt type and mix ratio with pepper, how to filet monk fish, where (and what days) to find good fresh seafood, the transformative power of adding fats (butter, oil, etc) or sweetener (sugar, honey, etc.) to your dish that seems to lack ‘something’. He took time to answer questions.

At the end of the evening, we enjoyed a delicious dinner with wine then followed up with dessert. No recipe handouts but the meal and instructions were simple enough that you could easily recreate—or modify—in the future. Enjoyable. Highly recommend. Caution, be prepared to stand for a long time as the entire class, and eating your dinner, is enjoyed while standing in the kitchen. Next time I’d have an appetizer before arriving because the evening meal is a late one—but well worth the wait.

Thanks, Cornell!
