Sporting clay courses require sportsmen to possess the reflexes of a cat, the vision of a hawk, and the index finger of a human. Hone your instincts with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $89 for a one-hour clay-target-shooting lesson (a $193.50 value)
  • $175 for a one-hour clay-target-shooting lesson for two (a $387 value)

During the one-hour lesson, a Level II National Sporting Clays Association-certified instructor teaches the correct and safe way to shoot clay targets. The expert goes over proper stance, checks for eye dominance, and explains how to don safety gear without ending up on Mother Nature's worst-dressed list. Then, as clay launches into the sky, the instructor walks pupils step by step through the process of firing their shotgun. Each customer's lesson includes shotgun rental, safety gear, 50 targets, and 50 shells.

Battle Born Sporting Clays and Shooting School

Battle Born Sporting Clays and Shooting School has no real address. That's because its team of NSCA-certified instructors teach clay shooting amid the real-world conditions that only untouched, natural settings can provide. All avid shooters, the instructors started the business after looking for a place to practice with tournament-style targets and chart the migration patterns of clay pigeons. Unable to find such a place, they set up shop amid a slice of Nevada's rolling foothills, big sky, and vast, open terrain . Here, they teach customers the proper techniques needed to blast clay targets out of the sky.

The Groupon Guide to: Cheating at Board Games

A rainy afternoon of board games is a great way to shred a family dynamic or discern who in your social circle has other issues in their lives that drive them to hound petty victories over their friends. Tip the balance with this guide to board-game cheating:

Scramble (Harsbo, 1948): In this game, billed to the scant demographic of literate children in the 1940s as “the crossword puzzle you build yourself,” you can easily secure victory by preemptively removing any dictionaries from your home and inventing long, complex words with vague definitions, such as quizlix: “a medical term, often used by highly intelligent Scramble players.”

Boatleshoot (Marshall Bradford, 1967): This guessing game of naval warfare is just like regular warfare—once you’re surrounded by it, there are no rules. Every time your opponent guesses a point on your grid that is a “hit,” reply instead “miss.” Your board is, after all, obscured from their view and in international waters, there is no honor system.

Chess (sixth century AD): If someone invites you to play chess, they have revealed three crucial weaknesses: they know how to play chess, they enjoy playing chess, and they have spent enough time practicing to have an expectation of victory. Cheat at chess by punching them in the face and taking anything they have that you yourself want.

What are some sure-fire ways to win at chess?
