During the Reiki session, clients remain fully clothed as the practitioner attempts to boost the body’s self-healing properties with a series of strategic touches. These light touches are designed to balance and unclog the body’s flow of energy. Some recipients have reported feelings of warmth and relaxation during and after treatments.

Bella Vita Massage Therapy owner and licensed massage therapist Stephanie Swango calls upon the skills she picked up at Dayton School of Medical Massage to soften and soothe muscles. To maximize the therapeutic benefits of each session, she encourages clients to arrive a few minutes early so that a brief consultation and prep does not interfere with the duration of the treatment. After clients lie down on her massage table, she pores over their muscles with a relaxing Swedish massage, which induces relaxation, or deep-tissue massage, which utilizes focused pressure and stretching to relieve the soreness that typically comes from wrestling with a bungee cord.
