During an IPL photofacial administered by a doctor or registerd nurse, pulses of light pass through the skin and are absorbed into damaged tissues. The treatment improves complexion and skin texture, reducing the appearance of conditions such as redness, broken capillaries, brown spots, freckles, rosacea, mild sun damage, fine lines, and enlarged pores. Treatments usually take between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area, and five to six treatments are usually recommended for optimal results. Patients typically experience little to no downtime and immediately resume normal activities.
