Bernard’s offers a modern twist on Old World luxury. Elegant sconces line the walls like vintage streetlights, illuminating floors made of faux marble, polished tile, and pearl cobblestone. All this is the handiwork of Elizabeth Chnapko and her daughter Maria, who opened the salon after husband and father Bernard lost a long battle with cancer. While natural light pours in through the salon’s windows, skilled stylists sculpt flattering styles and add highlights. Invigorating facials segue into indulgent mani-pedis and specialty waxes that nix unwanted fuzz. In preparation for a therapeutic massage, clients may also make use of spa amenities such as complimentary tea, and men’s and women’s locker rooms.
