Yes, they are environmentally friendly, as they are biodegradable. In general, sky lanterns are legal to purchase in the United States, although your area may have additional restrictions on the use of products like these.

Before you buy, we recommend checking with the local Fire Department or Public Safety Department where you intend to use this product. It is also strongly suggested that these lanterns be released in an open area.

When I go to the skylantern website, do I order my groupon deal there? I want to make sure I order $40 worth of colored lanterns, but on the groupon site, when I checked the $40 deal, it took went right to checkout with a card; there was no place to request the colored lanterns rather than white. Have I missed something?

All redemption instructions are included on the Groupon once it is purchased and printed.

You can find and print your Groupons by logging into your account at www.groupon.com. Once you are signed in, place your cursor over your name at the top right of the screen and click "My Groupons" in the drop-down menu that appears.

After you’ve reached that page, click “View Voucher” to open your Groupon in a new tab. To print, just click "Print Voucher".
