I don't have much Groupon experience, so sorry if this is a lame question, but can the groupon be applied toward alcohol as well, such as a glass of wine with the meal, or only towards food?

Not a lame question at all, Joe! Normally, you can find this information in the Fine Print section on the deal page. There is no provision saying this is "not valid for alcohol" so you can apply the value towards drinks.
