The two-hour lesson begins with a preflight briefing, during which a certified flight instructor reviews flight basics and safety procedures before flying the student from the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport (MGY) to the practice area. There, the student takes the controls to practice basic maneuvers—including level flight, climbs, descents, and turns—before returning to the airport to review takeoffs, landings, and hold a postflight debriefing on solid ground.
